Kos Bay Hotel

Nobody can complain about the price.

We booked a low budget break and had read the reviews. Firstly the breakfast is fine. There is plenty to choose from for a modest breakfast. The breakfast staff are friendly and helpful. The room was basic. There is no kettle or hair dryer.The bed was comfortable, the air con was great. The bathroom wasn't great. There was flooding on the floor but all in all totally acceptable for the price. The location is great on the outskirts of the town on a road which is busy during the day but quieter in the evening and opposite the Marina where there are places to eat and drink , a local small convenience shop and info centre. The town centre is within walking distance and the beaches are near. What wasn't great were the owners who have no interest in their customers, their service or their job. The reception area is bare. No pictures, no posters, no tourist information, not even a taxi number. There is zero customer service, no hello, no goodbye and no support without resistance.There is a silent and toxic atmosphere that rubs off onto the whole building so that there are almost no conversations between the visitors. People just come and go.The word Hotel needs to be removed.I have worked in hospitality for over 40 years. It's a passion and here is clearly none.This is nothing more than a hostel but has the potential to be a lovely hotel with some TLC. Would totally recommend the family run restaurant called Lithino opposite.
