Description

Small family hotel, designed in traditional Cretan style and located in the heart of the village of Malia in Crete. It offers simply decorated, but comfortable rooms. It offers a large outdoor pool with a sun terrace. The pool bar serves snacks and drinks. In walking distance there are several bars, tavernas and shops. Location close to the bustling night life, but at the same time near the Old town and other attractions makes the hotel a great place for a summer vacation.

Location: 600 metres from Malia beach in Crete, 32 km from Heraklion airport.

Consists of one 3-storey building.

The hotel has 106 rooms.

  • Beach: public sandy beach in 600 m from the hotel (3 coastline). Between the hotel and the beach road runs. Sun beds, umbrellas - for a fee. The beach is 1 km away.

I absolutely loved my stay at Malia Holidays hotel. The staff are so kind and welcoming! The food was great for the price we paid, and rooms were good too! The pool was gorgeous and very spacious, and the pool bar staff (George) was amazing! He made our holiday so fun and enjoyable! I would definitely stay here again!

Fabulous Hotel staff are very helpful and kind a very relaxing hotel, , George at the Swimming pool bar was a very kind, caring, hard-working boy, do anything to help?, what made our days at the pool? Very nice. Everyone round the pool was saying how kind and caring George was, and couldn’t do enough for you,

As a frequent visitor to Malia, I have stayed at other hotels which were nice but I prefer Malia Holidays Hotel due to the location, bar, swimming pool and staff.
The rooms are clean, the pool and bar is nice, the lounge bar is nice and can sit outside and watch the world go by. Old Malia town is across the road and so are the restaurants, whilst the ‘strip’ is a few minutes in the other direction- the rooms are quiet at night.
Easy access to the bus stop to Heraklion and Ag Nik. A supermarket is across the road and Kaza bar is next door which sell good drinks, food and show sports on many screens.
If guests want a five star hotel then they should pay for a five star hotel, I find Hotel Malia Holidays great value for money…

Nice hotel in the center to Malia so you have everything around you!!! Traditional hotel with nice rooms and pool area!!! Great staff !!!

The hotel is OK for a short stay. The rooms are a bit dated. There are very few options when it comes to breakfast and dinner, which was not the best but acceptable if you just want a quick bite to eat. The location is good, you can't hear the music from the strip so you are able to sleep in peace.

The swimming pool was nice, if a little deep. 1.1m to 3m depth. The opening times are unusual, 10am to just 6pm, and these times are strict.

Hotel is pretty decent and clean. Staff is friendly. Location is next to main party streets which can be an up or down depending on what you're looking for. A lot of shops and restaurants all around. Some things were bit annoying about the hotel though like pool opening times could be longer (and written the same everywhere), not allowing own foods at the pool for no other reason than they could make more profit. Also they should write that AC doesn't work with window open, was confusing.

I was at this hotel 3days ago,for 7nights. The rooms are old fashioned style,but when you be there you make it comfy for you heart. AC is good,everything working,but the bed was very very badd! Not comfortable, becouse springs was hourtimg my back and legs. The breakfast was the same all the time(i give ir 6-7 for taste). Dinner was veryy good, delishious, and everytime diferent. The pool area is very beutiful, alot of trees, good garden, and very clean and modern pool. The staff is friendly and always there in loby area. The location is pretty good. Is near the street with shops ant restourants. At evening ant night the room isolation is good so you cant hear anything wats happening outside. It little bit farr from the sea. About 1km. Its sound not far away,but when is hot and you have to go there is exausting. Ant at sea you have to buy sun bend for 5-10eur for person. So for everyday is little bit expensive . But all in all, if you want cheaper holiday, its good to choose this hotel, everything you need you will get and will be happy. In this rewiew the most bad thing was bed.

Hotel itself proclaims having parking place in front of the hotel for free, which is really misleading. Hotel does not own any parking place at all and because it's right at city center, you can drive for hours to find some close parking place.
Wifi is good only for scrolling thru facebook, don't expect playing videos thru it. As mentioned here several times, shower and bathroom overal is in horrible state.
Dinners and breakfasts were OK, but cats present everywhere are begging the guests for food.
Lady at the reception behaved more like a teacher - during the arrival, she behaved inappropriate to a me as a guest and told me all the rules and things that are forbidden - to start feeling guilty even before I entered the room.
Room floor before my arrival was not cleaned for sure - I found plenty of long woman hairs on the floor. Hotel itself is in very noisy area, drunk people were shouting in the street till early morning and I could hear every word from the next rooms. Generally, I was disappoited, therefore 2/5.

My wife and I spent 14 wonderful days at this family run hotel, the staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble for them. We were half board and went out almost everyday visiting the the local area, and further afeild. I did notice however, being a non-smoker, that there were no non smoking areas anywhere in or around the hotel, perhaps the owneres can take this onboard.
otherwise a fantastic holiday.
