Real Palace Hotel & Studios in Malia

Had a great time here. Went early in the year so it was nice and quiet. The staff were very welcoming and had a good laugh with the barman a couple of nights. I had a couple of dinners there and the food was really nice. I liked that the hotel was a bit away from the main strip. I would visit again but I don't tend to go to the same places.

We have just come back from this hotel in Malia and what can I say fab hosts couldn’t do enough for us during our stay there, hotel is clean, tidy, great housekeeping, ate there a few times and food was great and plenty of it. This is a vibe hotel but the youngsters didn’t bother us as we were young once and did the same thing after exams. The old town is quite close with lots of tavernas, two shops near by and just a ten minute walk to the ***** with loads of great places to eat and drink especially one pub called Street with great hosts and lovely staff serving you. We will be back and thanks again.

Went here in June 2025, with a family member. Everything you require is in the rooms, pans, plates, cutlery, safe. etc. Large pool and plenty of sunbeds, even a massive lawn that you can sunbathe on. It's a 25 minute walk to the nearest, but overcrowded beach, but quieter beaches are available after another 10 minutes. Pottamos beach being my favourite, to the right of the Port of Malia. Nearest supermarket is a 5 minute walk away. Food at Real Palace is good and at a reasonable price. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of old Malia, and lots of guests had hire cars or bikes, as an avid walker I didn't mind the walking. I would recommend this Hotel, with special shout outs to Manos the owner, and Mike and Costar who manned the bar all day.

Well, what can I say. We have travelled all over the world and the level of service here is unmatched. This is a true hidden gem. The owners obviously take a lot of pride in maintaining the accommodation and the grounds as everything is immaculate. The food is excellent and the bar is super friendly. We will be back. Absolutely lovely place to stay, Manos and Kostas were brilliant and couldn’t do enough for everyone. We ended up eating in the hotel bar most evenings as the weather was rubbish for most of our stay. The food was fab and cooked by a wonderful lady ( I didn’t get her name) The room was perfect for what we needed and kept lovely and clean. We had a corner room and even had 2 balconies! I would definitely recommend Real Palace to anyone if you don’t mind a little 10 minute walk to the shops and tavernas. For our first trip to Crete, staying here has definitely made us want to come back.

Amazing stay, my room was clean and fresh. Beds and bedding crisp and white. The staff are amazing!!! I’m veggie and every meal time they have gone out of their way to make me something special!!!! I honestly can’t fault this place. The pool has ample sun beds and big loungers which have never been held by towels!! Few things to note they do smoke in the bar but that has not bothered me and I’m a non smoker? There is no soap in rooms so remember to bring your own for handwashing etc the rooms have a lovely large balcony with table and seating a lot bigger than most places I have stayed. It does feel a bit out of the way in the hills with olive groves as you walk to the property but I feel that adds to the charm of the place. The grounds are kept immaculate and guests all speak to each other. I will deffo return. Thank you Real Palace

5 Stars because we had an awesome experience. It was a very nice stay and the employees were super nice, problems have been resolved quickly and everything went well. Unfortunately we didn‘t know, that the AC costs extra money, it is 70€/week. And of course tourism taxes, which are like 10€ per person. But that was not that big of a deal, since the hotel is so cheap and you really get a lot out of your money. The owner is especially very nice and we could tell, that he actually tries his best and is working almost 24/7, wow!

We also met many of his family members spread out in Malia, who were working in their own shops, they were all very nice people. The location is very nice and the party strip close to the hotel is fun as well.
The room we stayed in was very clean and exactly what we wished for. It‘s not much and it is not big either, but we treated it as a place to sleep and went out all the time, for this it is amazing. I only didn‘t like, that it is very bright inside of the room in the morning, if you like to sleep longer it can be a small challenge. We didn‘t try the food, but the drinks are good though.
The pool is amazing, it has a lot of different kinds of sunbeds and they make the very best out of this small space, it is amazing.

I can recommend this hotel, 10/10 for what we have paid.

Girls Holiday - Real Palace is a truly wonderful hotel! Manos and the other staff made us feel so at home and nothing was too much trouble. The food is made fresh to order with produce grown on site, and the drinks selection is brilliant! The location is also perfect to have some quiet but also only a 20 minute walk to the old town and main centre. The rooms are safe and secure and very clean. I couldn’t recommend Real Palace enough!

The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and equipped with a kitchen. Child-friendly, quiet, the old town of Malia is close by. The bedrooms are comfortable and clean. Bed linen is changed once a week, new towels are brought twice a week. The pool is unheated, but very clean and beautiful. One apartment has a balcony, 2 double beds that can be converted into 4 single beds, a kitchen with a stove, refrigerator and dishes. The toilet was very okay, the shower pressure was normal. There were no soaps in the kitchen and bathroom, but they were very cheap in the shops. The food in the bar was very good, the prices were average. If you want air conditioning, it costs 70 euros per a week. The overall impression of the hotel was very good and we enjoyed our vacation.
