Maverick City Lodge

the value for the price is absolutely amazing. rooms were clean and quiet, as a female solo traveler i felt very safe and the staff was really friendly and helpful. the beds have curtains for privacy and there are huge spacious lockers for your baggage. it’s not too social, but it’s also possible to meet other people.

It’s hard to speak to this location as a hostel because I stayed in a private room. However, it was very clean, in the room, kitchen and lobby. The location is also great. It’s in a nice neighborhood, but it’s not too busy or loud.

My only minor complaints are that the blanket was too short, it didn’t cover my body fully. And there was no shower curtain, so water would splash on the floor.

A great stay overall, I will definitely be back if I’m ever in Budapest again.

This hostel was amazing! The staff was so lovely and kind. Shoutout to Mimi for helping me sort out my booking! Really appreciate it! The hostel was so well located, clean, comfortable, and so social! I booked a female door and immediately met people on the first night that I arrived. The kitchen was also great and social. The dorm room was huge, bed space was big, and the female dorm room I had had a private bathroom (which ended up being huge with multiple shower and toilet rooms). Wow!!!! If you do the baths, purchase the ticket with them as they rent you a free towel for the same price as the website! So easy to reach by airport bus and public transport.

Honestly one of your best options around here.
The rooms are top notch, well cleaned, nice and private but I made friends even with the privacy in the rooms. The common room is okay not very big so meeting people there isn't the best but it's half decent.
The service I could never dismiss, everyone was nice and helpful. I can't say anything bad about them.
Location wise it's perfect, as simple as that, it's near everything you want to be near, food, cafes, bars, clubs whatever your vibe, it's great.

The hostel itself is ideally located, close to major attractions and public transport. The facilities are modern and well-kept, creating a cozy atmosphere. The communal areas are perfect for meeting fellow travellers.

Kai, Yas and Vanessa was incredibly welcoming and attentive, always ready to assist with any questions or requests I had. Their friendly demeanour made me feel right at home and greatly enhanced my experience at the hostel.

What can I say, the beds were perfect! I stayed in a 6 bed dorm and the bed was really huge considering it’s only for one person. I consider it like a mini Cabin because you have your own little private space.

The shower area was the biggest shower spce I’ve ever seen.

Great hostel experience in the heart of Budapest! I had a warm welcome from Orsi, and she imparted some excellent local knowledge, especially about places to find delicious food, throughout our stay. (Seriously, we went back to one place three times in five days!) The rest of the staff team were also brilliant. The hostel is clean, modern and beautifully designed, with comfortable public spaces to chill out. It was quiet during our stay (perhaps because it was midweek?), but the privacy curtains on the beds are a fantastic addition, meaning that you can always retire to your little pod for some peace and quiet!

Stayed here for a few nights. It's right in the middle of the Jewish Quarter and it's walking distance to all of the tourist places and its in the middle of Budapest's night life area. We booked a twin room instead of sharing a dorm, it was really hot when we went, so we chose this room for the AC, as in some dorms they're not very good, our AC worked really well and we slept well every night. We arrived late after 10pm and the street outside was really busy with people walking to bars and restaurants etc but we couldn't hear any noise in our room. There is a live music band on most nights next door at Fat Mamma's, but they stop playing before 10pm. We don't do breakfast, so can't comment, but the kitchen was clean and had lots of fridges too, some of the people staying chilled in the kitchen before heading out and some people were in the foyer area too. Our room was basic, but perfect, it was clean too. The TV in our room let us connect to our phones for streaming too. The staff are really nice and helped us out a few times too, especially the day staff. The guy on at night was nice, but not very knowledgeable, I called from the airport and he recommended I change some money there, not a good idea as they charged a huge commission fee and everywhere took card 🤦‍♂️We didn't take part in the socials, but saw a group taking part and they looked like they were enjoying themselves. There's computers and printers available, the WiFi was good too.
Prices are reasonable for a hostel in a capital city. Fat Mamma's next door give you discount if you're staying at Maverick, we only drank there, but the food did look good.
The crowd is mixed here as its a big hostel, there's young, old and families staying here, on separate floors I think....
Anyway, this place is highly recommended if you want a taste of the hostel life, I'll definitely use Maverick next time I'm in Budapest 👌
