Reviews
Rooms were clean, housekeeping ladies were nice, if you need something, you will get it.
For pools they provide bathrobes (even kids bathrobes), you need your clothes only for restaurant and city tours. Pools were warm, clean and in good conditions.
General impressions were positive. The atmosphere was calm, the room was cosy, and there was an agreeable view from the window. We were satisfied with the schedule of water pools, saunas and medical procedures.
We would like to express an especial gratitude to Margit, Tamas, Andrea and to the mud pack staff. There was a quality fulfillment of medical procedures; an amiable attitude of the medical staff helps healing and impoves mood.
On the other side there was a negative point: language obstacle. A lot of senior people do not command Hungarian or German, mostly they know Russian. We would like to be sure to have a someone who speaks Russian next time we order a rest in Heviz.
Also, we would have more diverse meals next time.
The most egregious example of their discriminatory behavior occurred during my oxygen treatment with Anita. She, along with her team, insulted me and treated me with disgrace. Despite paying for these treatments, I was made to feel unwelcome and demeaned at every turn.
I want to warn others not to waste their money at this establishment. No one deserves to be treated with such disrespect and prejudice. Ensana Thermal Hévíz needs to address these serious issues and compensate me for the distress and poor treatment I endured during my stay.
If you value respect and equality, I strongly advise you to avoid this place. I hope the hotel management reads this review and takes immediate action to prevent future guests from experiencing the same discriminatory treatment.
Not a smoking friendly hotel. The rooms have a balcony, but it is not allowed to smoke. Even in front of the entrance, where there is supposed to be a place for smokers, there is no shelter in the rain and no place to sit down.
Indoor saunas are not the best and entry is only in bathing suits.
There is a charge for parking in front of the hotel, which I don't think is right if you are a hotel guest. Although I have been to many hotels, this is the first time I have seen this.
But the staff was super nice.
Best wishes from Radka&Peter
The cocktail bar was rubbish. And expensive. If you order an Aperol spritz, you get that orange thing everyone in the whole Europe gets. But I ordered it with Campari instead of Aperol, and they only watered a shot of Campari with soda, but charged the whole price. Prosecco? They've never heard of it... Then the cheezy band started to play and they were even worse than the cocktail bar, so we left.
They always play music in the dining room - in the evening the guitar player was allright, very Paco-De-Lucia artistic-like, but in the morning an accordion kid was playing in a terribly depressive way and killed the mood. The guests didn't mind though - they were busy waiting at the coffee machine - you needed to pour yourself at least 2 capuccinos and 3 espressos to get a least a little bit of a kick ... Coffee in Hungary, in gerneral, isn't much to be talked about.
If you really want keep at least SOME of your mood, DON'T try their tap water. Later I bought myself some bottled mineral water in Lidl and it still tasted like swimming pool waste.
The pools are becoming a little worn out. I cut myself on a sharp underwater edge in the outside pool and bled quite nasty. The workers patched me up quickly - not looking surprised at all, and when they asked me where and how I cut myself, it seemed that they knew about that spot. That ended my "spa" experience quite quickly. And having hurt a finger on my foot it ruined my whole Hungary experience too because I wasn't able to walk around very much. Not that there is much to see. The view from our balcony was very "socialist" - in a bad way. Apart from our hotel and that famous lake - which you cannot approach if you don't buy the ticket to get in, the whole town seems it was last renovated sometime in "dark" socialist times. We found a dirty Trabant in the street and together with the depressive decaying scenery it looked like 80's came back. Lots of houses falling apart and only our hotel looked like it's being used and kept tidy.
