Location is good, just a short distance from E80. We parked our car and used the local bus to go into town which was not only cost-effective but a big help with not having to drive in maze. You can park on the street for free or it’s $16/day. Fredericka was very helpful at check in & Alessandro assisted with points of interest which we enjoyed. The breakfast is very nice, thanks for a great stay. 😊

Nobody in the hotel was on the same page. You get different information and prices every time you ask. I got charged 3 different amounts for breakfast 3 different days. Free coffee in the lobby, but then bartender tries to ask for money 🤦🏻 not the biggest of deals, but it looks completely untrained and disorganized

The business area was closed for a private event, even the lobby restroom, so it was unavailable for the guests to use.

Tried to charge me extra at check out

2 massive busses parked in front of it, so loading/unloading is not an option

Nothing around except a grocery store

No real easy access to public transport

Overall a pretty good stay. Parking at the hotel is €40 per day which seemed expensive compared to other hotels in Italy.

Location is outside of the city center, which is a pro and con. Fewer restaurants but also fewer crowds. Has access to nice beaches.

Location of hotel was good from the perspective of access from major highways. Was a bit of a walk to get to the beach or "city center". As a Platinum Bonvoy member, I was surprised that AC does not offer free breakfast. Breakfast cost was 16 Euros and they provided a $10 voucher for food. I'm finding a pretty significant disparity (no free breakfast) between the AC brands and all other Marriott properties where I have spent time. Breakfast was good but only had 1 coffee machine to service everyone. Always a line to get coffee. Staff was very attentive and helpful

I stayed at the Marriott AC Hotel Genova for 6 nights in September 2024 (3 nights one week, followed by a separate check in / check out for 3 nights the following week).

While the rooms were nice, my experience was negative overall due to the poor service and bad location.

During my two weeks in Genoa and Milan, I also stayed at 3 other Genoa hotels. I liked both the Best Westerns Modern Verdi and Porto Antico (both 3 stars) much better than the AC Hotel. Though the rooms were not quite as good, the better service and location more than offset that. The BW Metropoli was more of a budget hotel but even that had slightly better service and location, though I gave that hotel an overall 2 stars as well (tied with AC Hotel).

The AC Hotel looks a bit old from the exterior but the interior looked modern. The rooms were spacious and modern compared to the other Genoa hotels I stayed at. The couch was a bit old though with some random old stains. I wasn't thrilled that the glass shower door only extended halfway through the shower but apparently that design is not uncommon in Europe. The key card slot for the master light switch was at an awkward angle and took several tries to insert it right. The hallways were dimly lit and it was a bit creepy (I talked to some of my colleagues and they also admitted to feeling uncomfortable due to the darkness of the hallways). The internet worked fine though several reviews mentioned connectivity issues. Also all of the electric sockets were poorly placed as they were all underneath the tables and counters, making it hard to see where you were plugging things in.

The rooms were partly sound proofed but not completely. My first two nights, I kept hearing some very loud moaning from a woman next door, obviously engaging in adult activity. I called the front desk to complain about it but they said they couldn't do anything if I didn't know which room it came from. It took some time to figure out which neighbor it was likely from but even after reporting that, the noise continued. The third night I didn't hear the moaning but there was a loud dog barking from outside. My second stay also had a dog barking from outside.

The location was poor because it was so far from the city center. While you can take the 17 Nervi bus back and forth, it's a 15 minute bus ride each way (75 minute walk so it's not really walkable) and is rather bumpy - bumpier than the turbulence of most plane rides. I didn't mind it so much since I actually like roller coasters but I think the average person would find the trip unpleasant.

If you are on a work vacation, are mainly doing work from your hotel room, and are not going to the city center very much then the AC Hotel might be okay. But if you plan to visit a lot of tourist attractions, then the location will be a real turnoff.

Last of all, my experience with the service was terrible. Although the reception staff seemed outwardly friendly, the service at the restaurant was extremely poor. I previously mentioned how the front desk was ineffectual in dealing with the loud moaning from next door.

My group also had significant issues with the breakfast hours and the poor service during dinner all 6 nights (due to the character limit, I'll mention the details in the Food & Drink section). I also got conflicting information and the runaround when it came to Marriott Bonvoy points and nights credit (more info in the Noteworthy Details section).

Overall, my experience was fairly negative (despite the nice rooms) and I would not recommended staying at the AC Hotel Genova. Instead, I would recommend several of the Best Westerns in the city center instead (Modern Verdi was easily my favorite, Porto Antico was a solid second).

I recently stayed at the AC Hotel and had a wonderful experience. The modern, stylish decor combined with comfortable, well-appointed rooms made for a truly relaxing stay. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring all my needs were met promptly. The hotel's central location was perfect for exploring the city, and the on-site amenities, including the fitness center and delicious breakfast buffet, added to the overall convenience. I highly recommend the AC Hotel for both business and leisure travelers looking for a top-notch stay.

Booked this hotel on a whim and arrived late in the evening -- GREAT FIND!! The staff was so nice and welcoming.

This hotel is located off the motorway, so it's perfect if you're driving a car. There is a secure parking garage. It's just a few minutes down from scenic Nervi and the waterfront. A giant Coop (like a Walmart) grocery store is next door, which is perfect for stocking up on snacks and anything else. The staff downstairs will happily provide you ice if you are enjoying drinks in your room (as I was, chained to my laptop...)

Genoa/Genova is such a treasure. I can't wait to return!

We stayed here for three nights to visit Genova. The room and the building were aging. The linens were tired and could be replaced. The staff was great. They were friendly and helpful. The location is pretty good as it’s only a short 10 minutes drive to the pretty area of Boccadasse and 25 minutes to the old town. Free street parking can be tough, but I was able to find spaces during our stay. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, but ordered a bottle of local wine at the bartender’s recommendation and it was really good. The gym was tiny and dated, but the patio/smoking area had a wonderful view of the neighborhood. It’s located in a residential area, so it was very safe to walk about.

The staff was very professional with excellent customer service - just what you'd expect from a Marriott affiliated hotel. On our first night, we were not able to sleep because of the noise from the street. We called the reception at 3 in the morning and Carlos apologized and promised us that they would change our room after breakfast. True enough, after breakfast, we went to the reception and they immediately gave us a quiet room, and most of all it was an upgrade! Thanks to Carlos and Alessandro for taking care of us and making sure that we would enjoy our stay. So on our second night, we had a good night sleep.
The breakfast was superb, all the staff there especially the lady who checks the room number before letting you in the restaurant was always courteous, always greets the guests with a genuine smile. Jeyvee, one of the waiters, was also very professional and very helpful.
We commend the high standards in customer service - from the cleaning ladies, waiters, restaurant staff to the reception staff - all of them exhibited professionalism and genuine kindness.

Very bad experience.
My room got flooded in middle of the night.
Instead of providing alternative room, they try to fix .
Didn't sleep all night.
Better choose another hotel in GENOVA.
