Reviews
The common areas were nice but too hot during the summer.
The cleaning staff was a bit rude, but the receptionists and people at the restaurant were GREAT!
The beds were great, clean sheets and towels.
Would be back.
I stayed at Combo Milano in early May. On my second night, I found a live bedbug crawling on my bed. I immediately informed reception, who initially seemed helpful and even offered me a written agreement for a refund. However, this promise was not honoured. No apology, no solution — and certainly no refund.
The room was in poor condition and I had to leave in the middle of the night, during a peak season, disrupting a work trip and causing major stress.
Later, after issuing a partial refund, the property charged my card again without notice, for the exact same amount — a move that my bank is now reviewing. On top of that, my reservation was removed from Booking.com, preventing me from leaving a review there.
I find it deeply disappointing that instead of taking responsibility, the hotel has responded with personal attacks, false claims, and attempts to discredit me as a guest. For the record: I acted in good faith, documented everything, and escalated the issue only when no solution was provided.
I’m sharing this not out of revenge, but because guests have a right to know what to expect — and how complaints are handled here.
Accusing guests of “coercion” or of “bringing bed bugs” — without evidence — says more about your customer service than any review ever could.
Clean, pleasant and comfortable.
Good location.
I slept in a bed that was infested with bugs. It’s impossible that I could’ve brought them with me because when we lifted the mattress it was covered with bugs at all life stages. The bugs were also on the walls and bite guests in other beds in the room. It was a nightmare.
I appreciate that the staff was helpful and understanding. They refunded my stay and paid for laundry which is the least they can do but unfortunately my coat is ruined, I am covered in bites, and paranoid that the bugs may have hitched a ride on my luggage after I left.
I’ve stayed at Combo before and was looking forward to returning so I booked directly and didn’t read the reviews. I wish I had been warned about the bedbugs. It’s a shame because otherwise it’s a beautiful hostel but not worth the risk of staying in an infested room. The problem will persist and spread unless they do a full scale fumigation.
February 3, 2025. Room 423.
Giving it 5 stars for visibility.
Breakfasts were delightful, offering a variety of delicious options that left me energized for the day ahead. While the hostel is about 20 minutes from the city center by metro, the location is still very convenient, providing a perfect balance between accessibility and tranquility.
The amenities were more than sufficient, catering to all my needs during the stay. Overall, Combo Milano offers a welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Milan!
