The room was overall good, but when we entered we walked right into bleach (which my partner is allergic to), the whole room smelled like it, when we mentioned it they just told us ‘I can open the window for you’ Lovely that he wanted to do that 🙈, but that didn’t solve the issue 🤣
We also found that the bathroom only looked clean the floors were still dusty and well you can see for yourself in the pictures 😅 so what they did with the bleach I really don’t know.
The location is alright not far from the touristic areas, but I was a bit uncomfortable walking around to be honest.
The overall vibe of the hotel is really nice. It has character and charm which attracted us in the first place. If the cleanliness was a bit better we would have loved it! 🥰

More than it's two official stars. Very friendly and helpful reception. Rooms clean, bed comfy. No tea making in room but there is a tea making facility on the cozy mezzanine floor above reception. Usual continental breakfast, which was nicely presented with all thats needed for a good continental offering.
Reception closes at 8pm, code to enter after time.
2mins walk to beer Keller/ restaurant. 10-15 mins walk to old town piazza. Would book again.

It's just a great place to stay. The receptionist was super helpful, and all staff were great. Nice small hotel.

Lovely, rather eccentric hotel, situated in atmospheric old building, with charming garden breakfast room. Excellent service. Not far from centre. Comfortable and quiet room with pleasant outlook. Decorated with works of art that reflect a personal touch ( and good taste). Really enjoyed my stay here. Warmly recommended. But be aware that after 8pm you have to let yourself in!

Hotel Scalzi is a beautiful hotel. Our room (and the whole hotel) was very clean and comfortable. All the staff we met were very friendly. Breakfast was good and on a nice day you can sit outside in the courtyard.
The only issue was the wall adjoining the next room was quite thin and we were woken up when they came in (we could hear their conversation and TV).

We had a very nice and original room in the backyard. The location of the hotel is very central. Perhaps the only thing to complain about is the quality of the breakfast. It wasn't bad, but didn't quite fit the stylish accommodation.

A great hotel for a couple of nights. 5-10 minute walk from the train/bus station and the same to the centre of Verona. Very friendly and helpful staff provide maps and advice. Rooms are basic, but clean and have excellent air conditioning. Several good snack bars and restaurants close by if you want to avoid the centre of Verona at busy times.

Good location in centre of Verona, with few parkings available against charge (15€ per day, in secured parking). But need to be booked up front. Luckily we had a spot available. Breakfast basic, but oke. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Only downside is noice from other guests in hallway and rooms above you. Also the entire night and morning we've heard a door closing very loudly. If you are a light sleeper it can be an issue. Apart from that comfortable hotel, good airco.

A beautiful and unique hotel with great charm. Family run and welcoming. An opportunity to stay in an elegant, authentic and traditional hotel.
The Secret Garden breakfast setting was lovely and breakfast was very pleasant.
There is a nice little lounge area where you can make yourself a hot drink and find a book or magazine to read.
The rooms are nicely decorated and furnished with modern ensuites. Air conditioning being a welcome feature in hot weather.
The owners are obliging and helpful.
A more authentic stay than modern or chain hotels.
