Formerly called Intercontinental Hotel, but it’s name has been changed when there’s a change of ownership. When COVID-19 hit Cambodia in 2020, it was since used as treatment facility for patients with mild symptoms.

The first 5-star hotel in Cambodia as InterContinental Phnom Penh. The hotel hosted mostly dignitaries, celebraties head of states, Royalty, President, etc. It is rebranded as The Great Duke Phnom Penh.

We stayed here last year when it was still the Intercontinental. It's a large hotel a bit dated with a great swimming pool on the 4th floor. Staff was courteous and food was decent and reasonable priced. The only minor con is the location is not as convenient to stay for independent travelers like us since it's a bit far from all the tourists' spots.

Great ambience. No free Wi-Fi, unless you are overnight guests.

1. The receptionists could speak fluent Chinese which is perfect for Chinese-speaking travelers. 2. Breakfast options are super limited. It does not seem to be a five-star hotel to me. 3. The hotel building is relatively new, however the room was a bit run down. Very few TV channels in English. No hair dryer. The hotel location is convenient for those willing to stay close to the airport. There are very few cafes and restaurants around in the area. Commuting downtown takes at least 15-20 minutes by tuk tuk (10 usd).

The room was amazing. The restaurants were really good. The concierge helped us arrange a Tuk Tuk to explore everyday. The driver was wonderful. And the pool and gym facilities were superb. My husband and I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to return. A thank you to all the staff for their assistance and help in making our stay memorable.

Location is perfect. Service was excellent, all the staff were very efficient and paid a lot of attention to details. I visited Sofitel Hotel with my family for a day of fun and relaxation. My wife arranged for a tennis pro to play with me and give some tips — it was a great workout and a real throwback since I haven’t played since my university days. Everything is good. Tuk-tuks can pick you up at the lobby entrance, which is convenient and free from traffic jams; all service staff are very nice. But except for the toothpaste, it is difficult to use, like a lump of flour, this toothpaste really affects the experience.

Perfectly located across the road from the royal palace, this is the perfect escape from the bustle of the city. Wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Breakfast very good, and the room is large and comfortable. Slippers, robes, provided. My room has a small kitchen area for extended stays. Location is excellent if you are looking for a quiet area. If you want to walk out the door and have shops all around then this won’t be for you. First, we checked in to a room the aircond was only blow warm air, and bathroom only provides one toothbrush. We then requested to change to another room. This second room the aircond is perfect except for room amenities, again there’s nothing provided except for towels. I have to request room service to refill what is necessary.
