Reviews
The hotel also features a bar and a restaurant on the ground floor, and I appreciated the complimentary water bottles and the coffee and tea selection in the rooms. Hotel rooms are comfortable. Additionally, there's a small area near the reception where you can get free water, snacks, and fruits, which is a nice gesture not commonly found in other hotels. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and they offer a free luggage room. Hotel also has its own Casino which is open 24 hours so after roof top bar closes, you can head down to the Casino and have drinks and play.
The staff was really helpful throughout my stay. However, the room service was disappointing; the cleaner didn’t spend enough time cleaning the room or bathroom properly. On a positive note, we tried the spa, which is excellent. If you buy a coupon at the hotel reception, it costs €10, compared to €25 at the spa counter. The spa features a nice pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam rooms.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Radisson Blu Hotel and would recommend it.
The first problem was a horrible functionality of elevators. It's not normal to wait for "your ride" more like 10 minutes. Had to use fire escape stairs several times on my way down from 12th floor. Another problem appeared once I opened my fresh prepared room, which actually was ALREADY INHABITED and I was even able to enter inside. I like people, this kind of sharing with strangers isn't for me, trust me.
Had no problem to change my room for a new one (had to lock my door as I didn't want to share my room with another lucky newcomer :D ). At first I thought, beds in it are water beds. As I realised later on, they were just a "bit" shaky...like used ones from one hour hotel.
Btw, If you feel bored enough after coming back from a beautiful autmun city, you can probably get an electrician workshop for free. Nah, really. Those sockets and a fuse box doesn't look very "tasty".
Sorry, those elevators, my "shared room" and shaky beds were like from a nightmare. 2,5* is fair enough I guess.
Also, found out that I qualified for spa centre based on my room selection, had I known that, I would have packed swimwear. Very disappointed on the missed opportunity. None of that was reflected at the time of booking.
I think there are so many people coming over that they don’t care for the quality of service. Location helps them survive, wonder how long it will be riding on that wave alone.
As for the stay - everything was fairly average.
Rooms and halls are starting to show their age. There are some weird and uncomfortable solutions probably because of the age of the building as well, like having to change elevators or being asked to not wear bathrobes on the way to the SPA because in order to get there guests have to walk through the entire hall where events and conferences are held. Very awkward.
Breakfast was quite mid - decent but nothing special when it comes to either taste or selection. Only one kind of pastry during the weekend (same kind every day too) is underwhelming for a 4 stars hotel.
What is very alarming is their (intentional in my view) lack of transparency with SPA entrance pricing. Nowhere during the booking process is the client informed about it not being included within the price of stay, which is the absolute standard practice in hotels around the world.
Imagine our surprise when we went there to use a jacuzzi and were told we had to pay to enter. Mind you we witnessed several guests (all that came at that time) being just as surprised as we were. The staff was asked to call the reception by almost every party arriving since everyone thought it was a mistake. No one was aware it was not included. We were told the additional entrance price is 25 euro per person so while it's not expensive, it's definitely overpriced for the limited amenities inside. We decided to skip it just because we don't want to reward such practices.
They probably do it because the SPA area is small and could struggle to accommodate everyone, but in that case they should be crystal clear about this practice while booking, because honestly if we knew it wasn't included we'd have probably booked another hotel. There are many reviews pointing this out and yet nothing has been changed, which makes me believe it's sadly intentional.
Rooftop bar is ok, nothing crazy, just a normal bar, there are better ones in the city center.
Shoutout to the front desk staff which was very nice and attentive. Gave us an upgrade to a higher floor which we honestly didn't need, but nice of them to do so.
Nice and clean rooms. The best view of the old city.
