This hotel is fabulous. The location is perfect for exploring Riga on foot. The room was very spacious and the ensuite was large and had a really good shower. The complimentary bottles of water which were left every day were a nice touch. The noise from the trams didn't bother us too much.
The breakfasts are amazing with so much choice. My only minor complaint is that a couple of mornings when I asked for fried eggs they arrived somewhat cold.

The location is great - close to tram/train/bus and walking distance to old town. Quite charming as well but not by any means particularly comfortable.
The beds are very hard and the AC was not adjustable (except the fan speed but I'm still unsure if it was actually cooling or heating...). You could open the windows but it was quite noisy from a nearby night club.
Breakfast was ok. Not the best selection and the same each day.
I would only recommend this hotel for the price and the location. For a good night's sleep I'd to anywhere else.

A lovely hotel - stories of noise from the tram are greatly exaggerated unless you’ve very sensitive hearing! Shame the restaurant and bar are closed every Sunday and Monday as sometimes you just don’t want to have to go out and explore.

A lovely historical hotel. Great location and clean, charming, modern rooms. Excellent breakfast and breakfast mimosas for those wishing to start their day off with a kick!
Excellent coffee as well. Check out at 12noon was also a great comfort for us as we were taking it slow

As regular visitors to Riga, we were so pleased to try out the Metropole. We were not dissapointed. The check in was very efficient and the pleasant lady on reception gave us all the information we needed. Lovely comfortable and well equipped room overlooking the inner courtyard.
The breakfast is substantive.
The whole team at this Hotel were friendly and professional.
Nicely located for the market, old town and central Riga. Absolutely wonderful experience.

It is a lovely hotel, situated on the edge of the old town and the indoor markets to the far side of the road. Staff are helpful, especially Matiss the bar man, who is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to drinks as well as funny. The rooms are clean and well adorned, the beds are comfy. The breakfast is a substantial buffet breakfast. We'll definitely be back. Many thanks to the staff that made our stay memorable.

Great hotel. Nice service and information in the reseption. Breakfast is not good. Bad quality on food and Juice is not cooled. For some reasons that is very normal in Riga. Almos all resturants had bad or varm soda. White wine is also warm. If you open the windows, its a bit noise on the rooms. We had air condition and had the window open when we was out of the room. Noise from tram line. Clean rooms some mold in the joints in the bath. The rom are cozy.

There is nothing bad I can say about the hotel. It has been renovated recently, the atmosphere is cosy, the location couldn't be any better, the breakfast is tasty and the building looks good.

Clean, nicely decorated, friendly staff. A bit on the noisy side as the hotel is next to a main road. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.

Nice rooms but personal had hard time understanding english, got handicaproom but ordered a superiorroom. I got compensation though. Breakfast ok, nothing special.
