Kokotel Bangkok Surawong

We are really enjoy in this hotel.
All of staff very helpfull, so kind, and super friendly.
For sure If I go to Bangkok, I will stay at Kokotel again. and I will tell to all my friends that if they go to Bangkok they must stay here 🥂
Especially for *Neab* for helping me find my phone which was left in the grab thank you so much. and also the *fluk and nut* have helped us have a very good breakfast

Room we were in was tired. The room was clean but the maid service was only doing the basics. Area's of previous damage were not repaired. The location for us was excellent. British Club is next door and only 5 minutes taxi to The Mandarin Oriental. If you have children this a huge bonus! Circular slide from the kids area to the lobby, big kids room and TV room. There is also a basic work area setup in the kids area so work and play is possible. Breakfast is excellent.

Very good option and placed at the centre of bangkok - silom area. We stayed in the same hotel brand at krabi (the rooms there were better in size). The staff is super friendly ! There is a coffee shop area at the reception where you can get coffee, some food and ice cream and beer. The staff even allowed us to keep our luggage there at the hotel while we were away/post check out. The TV is smart TV. Rooms have bath essentials, towels, cupboards, good ac, private bathroom. We stayed at this kokotel 3 times,whenever we touched bangkok. The first two times we were in the building that had the reception and there the room seemed little more airy than the room we got in the adjacent building. The former had space for a long study table but the latter didn't and it had a raised platform for bed and wash basin just as you enter and overall the room was smaller. The room comes with a safe and hair dryer too.
The location is good, you have china town 3km away, mahanakhon very nearby, couple of 7 eleven stores, atms in walking distance.
Also, you can do your laundry for about 30tbh and use a dryer (10tbh). There is also an iron box there upstairs. Overall very good stay, very clean and well maintained and good location. Pics I have shared are those of the smaller room.

My family and I stayed in Kokotel for 3 nights. Payed ~80 SGD per night for the biggest room available. Here's the verdict:

Rooms - Quite small, but has enough space to fit 2-3 large suitcases. The toilet and shower are separated, as well as the sink. The room had a curtain that separated where the beds are from where the toilet is.
Do note that the floor can be very dusty and dirty, especially underneath the beds.

Service & Amenities - Staff are friendly and hospitable, especially the front desk staff, having to man the restaurant order counter as well as front desk. Amenities are very little, but the entrance has a cute little slide. Also the second floor has a play area for small children. 1st and 2nd floor has some seating, but not too much. The 8th floor has a laundromat, but requires to pay a small fee to use it.

Location: Quite convenient, with many massage places just 5-10 mins walk from Kokotel. Food options are decent, but require at least 10-15 mins walk. Also, it's about 15 mins walk to the nearest train station (BTS - Chong Nonsi)

Overall, Kokotel is a decent place for backpackers who wouldn't mind paying a bit more for accommodation. I wouldn't really recommend it to families due to the small space in each room. Quite worth it!

Excellent Value for a Comfortable Stay! I recently stayed at Kokotel hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful experience it offered at such an affordable price point. Here are some highlights from my stay:

The room, although compact, was cleverly designed to provide everything one needs for a comfortable stay. Despite its size, it didn't feel cramped, and all essentials were readily available.

I particularly appreciated their eco-friendly initiative of providing refillable glass bottles for hot, room temperature, and cold water — a thoughtful touch that's both environmentally conscious and convenient for guests.

The commitment of the staff to perform house cleaning after every stay ensured a consistently clean and tidy room, contributing to a pleasant atmosphere throughout my visit.

One standout feature was the strong water pressure in the shower, making for a refreshing and invigorating experience.

The only minor drawback was the lack of soundproofing in the room, which occasionally allowed noise from outside to filter in. However, this didn't significantly detract from the overall positive experience.

What truly sets Kokotel apart is the unbeatable combination of budget-friendly rates, a warm and accommodating staff, and a streamlined check-in and check-out process. I was impressed by the efficiency and friendliness of the entire team. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a comfortable, affordable, and welcoming accommodation option.
