Best Western Plus Khan Hotel

It's between a 3 to 4 star as we had a mixed experience. Overall the room itself was as good as some of the 4 star Marriott's we have stayed in (if you are still part of the Marriott family chain). The sheets were clean and fresh so can't complain there.
We had the 8th floor so the view from our balcony was fantastic being able to see the Bey Mountains (I think).
The bathroom was something's else we had a missing panel from the shower stall so ended up facing towards the opening of the shower stall which was uncomfortable as we didn't want to wet the floor outside the shower stall. There was also mold on the tiles (not very 4 star standard - I will supply photos of you want to see them).
But there was good amenities, coffee and tea with kettle, and they were cleared daily.
Breakfast was the highlight of the entire stay as omelettes were cooked by the chef to your liking and satisfaction, and the rest of the buffet style breakfast was plentiful. Kudos to the kitchen staff especially the chefs.
Staff in general were pretty attentive, knew their work and we're able to supply us information when asked with the exception of one female receptionist. I asked to book a taxi as we needed to leave the hotel at 4 am and she told me that we could walk to the mall and get a taxi there. Really? For a 4 star you couldn't book me a taxi. Thank god for her colleague who came to the rescue and told us it wouldn't be a problem.
Otherwise I would still recommend staying here as it is right in the middle of the old city and you can walk around to many places or take public transport. I would still like to say thank you for a not too bad stay

Old hotel, and it shows. Rooms are average size, old carpets, not very clean - our shower had lumps of hair in the shower, obviously it wasn't even touched by cleaners. Dirty grout, rusted in some places, shower door not sliding properly. Nothing of expected necessities are provided - no kits, not even box of tissues. The only good thing about this hotel is their buffet restaurant - very clean, very spacious, excellent food variety, all fresh and tasty. Another plus for this hotel is its location - right on the border of the new and old parts of the city, very convenient for shopping, restaurants, and sightseeing.

We had booked the hotel for our honeymoon and had paid for a standard double room. But we reached and found they've given us a twin bed room. Apparently, they give the rooms on first-come-first-serve. A very stupid way of allocating rooms. What's the point of pre-booking. We complained to our agency to have the required upgrade done, and then after a lot of hesitation they provided a double bed room, but the bed being smaller than even a queen size. We could barely fit in.
The reception staff was being polite on the face, but not really very helpful. But luckily, the restaurant staff and housekeeping were generous. The hotel was clean and maintained in general, but there was some issue with the water pressure.
The only saving grace for the hotel is that it is right in the heart of old town, so you have everything in walking distance. They have a massive buffet menu, though, I wish they had a rotating variety every day.
If you have other options, choose those. Otherwise, this hotel is good for the location and food.
