Reviews
We had the 8th floor so the view from our balcony was fantastic being able to see the Bey Mountains (I think).
The bathroom was something's else we had a missing panel from the shower stall so ended up facing towards the opening of the shower stall which was uncomfortable as we didn't want to wet the floor outside the shower stall. There was also mold on the tiles (not very 4 star standard - I will supply photos of you want to see them).
But there was good amenities, coffee and tea with kettle, and they were cleared daily.
Breakfast was the highlight of the entire stay as omelettes were cooked by the chef to your liking and satisfaction, and the rest of the buffet style breakfast was plentiful. Kudos to the kitchen staff especially the chefs.
Staff in general were pretty attentive, knew their work and we're able to supply us information when asked with the exception of one female receptionist. I asked to book a taxi as we needed to leave the hotel at 4 am and she told me that we could walk to the mall and get a taxi there. Really? For a 4 star you couldn't book me a taxi. Thank god for her colleague who came to the rescue and told us it wouldn't be a problem.
Otherwise I would still recommend staying here as it is right in the middle of the old city and you can walk around to many places or take public transport. I would still like to say thank you for a not too bad stay
The reception staff was being polite on the face, but not really very helpful. But luckily, the restaurant staff and housekeeping were generous. The hotel was clean and maintained in general, but there was some issue with the water pressure.
The only saving grace for the hotel is that it is right in the heart of old town, so you have everything in walking distance. They have a massive buffet menu, though, I wish they had a rotating variety every day.
If you have other options, choose those. Otherwise, this hotel is good for the location and food.
Most staff understand and speak English, but can conveniently lose their linguistic abilities when the situation suits them, so you need to exercise a lot of patience or else they will just ignore you.
If you are vegan, or have any dietary restrictions, this hotel may not have much accommodation for you. That being said, if you would like a pretty standard spread that does not vary greatly from day to day, you will be very happy with the simplicity of the meals available in the restaurant.
Do not forget to carry your toiletries, because those are luxuries you may not get… in fact, the standard two water bottles that all hotels (not just Best Westerns) replenish in your room, will also be a luxury, that you may lose your voice asking for. Contrary to the feedback given by the Hotel, we did not receive the daily 2 bottles and that is what we were requesting for. Not to worry, if you carry a bottle, you can fill it in the restaurant.
You may have to ask for towels a few times, till you receive some that aren’t completely worn out from overuse.
All in all, the one positive from my stay is that they have some kick ass peaches in season in Turkey and the hotel has provided for local peaches in their spread.
I reported the incident to the reception and was connected to the Operational Manager, who seemed more interested in defending the housekeeping staff than addressing my concerns. Despite the security cameras monitoring the hallways, no attempt was made to investigate who entered the room during the time frame I provided. The day after the incident, the cleaner acted suspiciously and did not clean the room properly.
I have traveled to several countries and stayed in numerous hotels, but this was the first time I experienced such a lack of professionalism and accountability. Having money stolen from my belongings is unacceptable, and the hotel’s response was completely inadequate. I have informed the police about the incident, but as a tourist with limited time, pursuing legal action is challenging and lengthy process.
I strongly advise anyone considering staying at this hotel to think twice. Security and guest safety should be a top priority, but clearly, that’s not the case here.
We stayed at the hotel from 5 to 8 July.
The rooms are very clean and nice, the breakfast is delicious and they have many varieties of cheese, eggs, fruits, jams, meat, olives, vegetables, pickles, baked goods, pastries, and many many more.
The pool looks bigger in the pictures but its really nice and clean.
The staff are very friendly and respectful (unlike other Turkish people 🫣)
They have a nice terrace with a great view but it was closed.
If you booked at this hotel, you won’t be disappointed by the food, the service, or the cleanliness. Make sure to ask for one double bed in case you’re booking a double toom as couple.
Firstly, the room service was extremely unsatisfactory. Despite requesting to have the air conditioning fixed in room 307, no one attended to the issue and I received no updates on the status. Additionally, I requested an international charging adapter, which one would reasonably expect a four-star hotel to provide. Instead, I was advised to purchase one from nearby shops.
Moreover, I experienced an unusual and uncomfortable incident upon returning to the hotel with food purchased outside. A staff member stopped me at the entrance and asked for my room number to carry the food. This was an unexpected and awkward situation.
Lastly, the room quality was below the standard one would expect from a four-star establishment.
I hope you take these issues seriously and improve the services to meet the expectations associated with a hotel of your rating.
