TUI Magic Life Masmavi

First of all, this place is NOT 'all inclusive'. I have been to other 'Magic Life' hotels 5 times and had difficulty spending any money. Here there are price lists everywhere for cocktails, wine, restaurants, refilling the mini bar. Even playing pool in the hotel bar was 5 Euros. As an example you can buy a rum and coke package for the mini bar.....for 85 Euro! That's a 15 Euro bottle of rum and 3 one Euro bottles of coke for 85 Euro!
On arrival at other Magic Life hotels we have ALWAYS been greeted with cocktails. Not here, just miserable staff who act like you're a burden, not like you're paying their wages!
We traveled as 2 families and had arranged, in writing, to have 2 adjoining rooms with a third room close to the others. What we got were 3 rooms, as far apart as was possible to be, literally at different corners of the resort.
At other Magic Life hotels the staff do not allow people to get to the sunbeds at 05:00 to claim a space with their towels. Other resorts actively remove the towels. In this place there are towels everywhere from early in the morning and staff do nothing about it.
We asked for a quiet area, our main room was in direct line of site, approximately 50 meters from the main entertainment stage with very loud music until midnight every night. This place has a 'disco' for those who want the loud music but there is no escape from it for people who don't.
Some of the staff here were fantastic and genuinely helpful. KEMAL in the main Magico restaurant was really good all week and definitely stood out amongst most of the rest who just acted like they really didn't want to be there.
Overall, this was a major disappointment. We went to a Magic life as we've been before and never been disappointed. Magic Life Sharm El-Sheikh was so good we went 4 times in 3 years!
The rooms at Masmavi were nice, good standard of cleaning and the pools and grounds are very well maintained. Unfortunately this place does not have the feel or atmosphere of a 'Magic Life' resort and as previously stated, it's not 'all inclusive'. Finally, when leaving the resort for the airport, I noticed that one of our cases were cracked. It hadn't been cracked when I took it to reception earlier in the day. I asked for some tape and they initially couldn't find any. I was however offered cling film but told "that will be extra". Really? Charging me extra for cling film to wrap around a case that was broken by your staff in your reception. This is the only Magic Life where I can honestly say I won't be back. The buildings, location, beach and pools are all great but it was ruined by SOME bad staff, too many charges, really loud music at night, towels on sunbeds all day and some really small food portions at the service counters! I joined a queue behind 10 people for some beef wellington. What i was given was half of one thin slice of beef with no pastry.

Don’t come here if you have kids.

We are repeat Tui magic life visitors. This is our second time at Masmavi. I would say that this hotel is 5 stars in so many areas such as food quality, beach, bars, atmosphere, entertainment, cleanliness… but the kids club was an absolute nightmare.

Tui does not state this on their website but since this year they have new hotel policy for all Tui magic life kids clubs. Children are now allowed to leave the kids group whenever they want to. They do not need to be signed out. The new age groups are: Mini from ages 3-5 and Maxi from ages 6-8. Before the age group was from 3-6 years old. We think the changes made for the age groups is a good idea however we have serious concerns about safety and the kids workers.

From the moment we brought our son to the kids club registration the emphasis was on the new policy and the atmosphere was very tense. We were confused about the new policy and did not agree to allow our child to leave whenever he wants.

The kids workers did not learn our child’s name. They pressured him to leave and he did not feel welcome. As parents we had no peace of mind or reassurance that the 20 year old kids workers understood our concerns or that they would properly care for our child.

The kids club takes the children all over the resort: the tennis courts, the football field, the beach, the pools, the spa/ hammam area. And the kids can leave whenever they want. I saw the kids club going into the hammam room and then changing in the adults changing room with other adults. For us this was a red flag.

The communication was also very bad. We went to pick up our child at the kids club. The kids did not come back to the club area. We waited and waited. Then a worker comes and tells us the group is at the activity pool. So we go there. They are doing some kind of iron man competition in the pool with the kids. On the first day of registration we specifically wrote down our son must wear ear plugs. The kids worker forgot and our son ended up with an ear infection and needs another ear surgery.

Again, there is no childcare or interest in the kids. It’s pathetic. And they only had a group of 5 kids with 3 workers.

Also if your child cannot swim they shouldn’t be allowed to join the kids club because they will be abandoned by the group if they want to leave. Again there is no concern for the safety of the children.

In what world is it safe to allow a young child to wander around a large resort in Turkey unattended by an adult?

Sadly this review is very negative which is unfortunate because this is a nice hotel. And the reason we came back a second time is because we came here last year and our child had a great time, made lots of friends and it was fun.

The information about the new policy is nowhere to be found on the magic life app or website. If we would have known we would not have come back. Tui should be more upfront about this. They have lost our trust!

We will not be back and I cannot recommend Masmavi to anyone with children.
