TUI Magic Life Masmavi

First of all, this place is NOT 'all inclusive'. I have been to other 'Magic Life' hotels 5 times and had difficulty spending any money. Here there are price lists everywhere for cocktails, wine, restaurants, refilling the mini bar. Even playing pool in the hotel bar was 5 Euros. As an example you can buy a rum and coke package for the mini bar.....for 85 Euro! That's a 15 Euro bottle of rum and 3 one Euro bottles of coke for 85 Euro!
On arrival at other Magic Life hotels we have ALWAYS been greeted with cocktails. Not here, just miserable staff who act like you're a burden, not like you're paying their wages!
We traveled as 2 families and had arranged, in writing, to have 2 adjoining rooms with a third room close to the others. What we got were 3 rooms, as far apart as was possible to be, literally at different corners of the resort.
At other Magic Life hotels the staff do not allow people to get to the sunbeds at 05:00 to claim a space with their towels. Other resorts actively remove the towels. In this place there are towels everywhere from early in the morning and staff do nothing about it.
We asked for a quiet area, our main room was in direct line of site, approximately 50 meters from the main entertainment stage with very loud music until midnight every night. This place has a 'disco' for those who want the loud music but there is no escape from it for people who don't.
Some of the staff here were fantastic and genuinely helpful. KEMAL in the main Magico restaurant was really good all week and definitely stood out amongst most of the rest who just acted like they really didn't want to be there.
Overall, this was a major disappointment. We went to a Magic life as we've been before and never been disappointed. Magic Life Sharm El-Sheikh was so good we went 4 times in 3 years!
The rooms at Masmavi were nice, good standard of cleaning and the pools and grounds are very well maintained. Unfortunately this place does not have the feel or atmosphere of a 'Magic Life' resort and as previously stated, it's not 'all inclusive'. Finally, when leaving the resort for the airport, I noticed that one of our cases were cracked. It hadn't been cracked when I took it to reception earlier in the day. I asked for some tape and they initially couldn't find any. I was however offered cling film but told "that will be extra". Really? Charging me extra for cling film to wrap around a case that was broken by your staff in your reception. This is the only Magic Life where I can honestly say I won't be back. The buildings, location, beach and pools are all great but it was ruined by SOME bad staff, too many charges, really loud music at night, towels on sunbeds all day and some really small food portions at the service counters! I joined a queue behind 10 people for some beef wellington. What i was given was half of one thin slice of beef with no pastry.
