Melas Lara Hotel

The hotel is small so good for people with mobility issues and/or smaller kids. We had a great room on the 10th floor with an amazing view from the balcony. They were able to accommodate 3 people in a room with a roll away bed. The air conditioner automatically shuts off though when the balcony door opens even for a minute. The staff was friendly but most did not speak English very well. Majority of the tourists were Germans so German was the primary language spoken. I loved the night entertainment. The shows were all professional and fun to watch. The food was very good if you are a meat and sweets lover. There wasn't a big variety of seafood at all. They had themed nights at the buffet, and my favorite was Turkish but they really need to get rid of Asian night. Everything was just terrible and not even close to Asian cuisine. Another thing that was very disappointing were the cocktails. I tried very basic cocktails, and they were all very poorly made. It would be nice to add mimosas during breakfast as well. My other complaint is the hotel not having a single converter available for guests! Bring your own if you are from the US! Overall, it's a good, basic hotel for families and older couples.

I have both positive and negatives regarding this hotel.The hotel building itself is beautiful a really pretty hotel and the grounds are beautiful ! straight away upon arriving we were disappointed to be told we had a 4th floor room despite me sending 3 emails prior to booking and arriving to request a ground floor as I was travelling alone with two children and was nervous to have a room with a balcony and also the hassle of climbing stairs every day with two children and a push chair (I told them my son also had a fear of lifts )they eventually moved us to a second floor which was better but also not great especially after they told me they would meet my requirements, they also revealed they actually did not not have a ground floor in the hotel and the first floor is infact on a level so this should have been told to me when emailing as I would never have booked this hotel at all! cleanliness was definitely not 5 * the tables around the pool were filthy and every morning putting our towels down I would notice cigarettes in the ashtray from the day before and drinks spilt on tables where they hadn’t been cleaned! Our room itself on the day of arrival wasn’t clean the floors felt so dirty to walk on like really sticky…we had a long black hair in the bath and the mattress in the baby cot was stained! During the holiday I have to say the maids cleaned our room really lovely and left it looking nice! The food was amazing there and a lot of variety…unless you have allergies, unfortunately my son has a severe allergy to nuts sesame and milk I made the hotel aware and they wasn’t that bothered, any other hotel have stayed at always produced us with allergy cards to show restruant staff but melas Lara provided nothing , neither did they have any ingredient/allergy information in front of any of there food something again there has always been at any other hotel we have stayed!because of this my son had to have plain pasta the whole holiday as we couldn’t chance what was in any of the other food! They had no other milk available other than cows milk ,again any other hotel in turkey have offered alternatives! This really ruined our holiday as my son after a few days just wanted to go home for normal food! After about 4 days of going up and down stairs carrying a baby and a pushchair my son said he’d try go in the lift (he’s been petrified for years!but he done it we were so proud and it made the next couple of days so much easier…until one day we were going down for dinner and suddenly a big bang and pitch black and we were stuck!both my kids were screaming,I got the torch on my phone and pressed the alarm again and again and no one came! In desperation I put my hands in between the small gap in doors and managed to pull them open…when i confronted the reception the lady( I think a manager) was very relaxed about it and said she was about to send someone to help us! It was very nice. The room was very nice, clean, and spacious, and the staff was really nice, friendly, and enthusiastic about their work. 🙂 Food was available all day, and the food was very tasty. I can recommend it to everyone.

Perfect holiday! Located close to the airport, so transfer time is less. The private beach is big enough, there are enough sunbeds, the water is clear, no rocks. Food, service is excellent. Kids' club amazing - Selin and the young girl (her name starts with B) did a fantastic job, every day different activities during the day and mini disco and performances in the evening. Our room was spacious and clean. The only minus was the aircon above our head so we opted for switching it off which made our nights a little hard

We just returned from a week at Melas Lara, and this was our second time staying at the hotel — something we normally don’t do (see my previous review). Once again, we had a wonderful experience. The hotel is exceptionally clean and not as massive or overwhelming as some other resorts. The staff are incredibly friendly and genuinely kind to everyone. They’re especially sweet with small children and work hard to provide excellent service. The reception team is helpful and always tries to make everything possible. The animation team was fun and engaging. The Aquagym instructor this year was different from last year — and what a great improvement! Last year we were also impressed with the kids’ club lady, and she’s still absolutely amazing. Such a lovely person! The food was delicious — definitely much better than at other hotels we’ve been to. The Turkish dishes in particular were fantastic, both at the cold and hot buffets. Freshly made snacks are available at the pool bar, and the beach offers a fresh and tasty lunch too. Personally, I think they could skip the themed nights (Asian night, Mexican night were a bit of a disaster), but thankfully there’s always Turkish food available. Perhaps others enjoyed those theme nights more than we did. Drinks were good, and service was attentive. The staff even remember your drink preferences and sometimes bring them without asking. Ice cream was also very tasty. We stayed in a family room, which was spacious and had everything we needed. We’re not too picky about how modern a room looks — as long as it’s clean, we’re happy. And the cleaning service was excellent every day. I only discovered on the last day that you can request different types of pillows and even a soft top mattress — a great option to have. The minibar is restocked daily. Still a pity they don’t include Diet Coke and only provide 1-liter bottles, but on the other hand, that’s more sustainable. The pool with slides is heated, while the main pool is not. All in all we had a great time and truly enjoyed our vacation!

Very clean nice hotel, food good although no outdoor food available at this time of year,room very good,staff excellent very attentive, Ray was excellent organising the darts twice a day and selin was always there for a chat ,we will return.

The hotel’s proximity to the airport, just a 20-minute drive away, made it incredibly convenient. As soon as we stepped inside, we felt welcomed. The reception staff offered us a drink and brought our check-in documents directly to our seats—no need for us to stand in line at the front desk. Our room was clean, and a little surprise awaited us the next day: small flowers thoughtfully placed on our beds by the cleaning staff. Additionally, the room featured a safe for our valuables.
The hotel has a nice garden that leads directly to the beach. Occasionally, you’ll encounter friendly kitties in the garden. My child had brought cat treats from our home country, and the cats seemed to relish this new treat. These feline residents have their own little house and receive care from the hotel.
For beach enthusiasts, there are always available seats, and volleyball games kick off around 11:00 for those seeking extra fun. The sea is crystal clear, and the beach bar ensures you’re never without refreshments and snacks. Likewise, the pool bar offers an array of treats and snacks.
Wherever we went, we saw cleaning staff everywhere, diligently working despite the heat. They were always serving and assisting guests. The restaurant’s diverse menu catered to every taste, with various themes in every meal. The consistently tender and delicious meat dishes stood out. With many options available, there was something for everyone.
The kids’ animation team kept my child entertained, and the evening program was enjoyable. While the Turkish show was decent, I expected some improvement. On the other hand, the Mongolian show exceeded expectations. On Sundays, the entertainment team usually has a day off, which is understandable. However, we were a bit bored with no activities on Sunday. We had nice photos taken by the photographer, although he was a bit pushy about selling us all the photos he took.
In summary, I highly recommend this hotel!
