Boston Marriott Copley Place

I stayed at this hotel as a little kid around 1986 and had not returned since. When we see things as an adult that impressed us as children, we are often disappointed. This was not the case with the Boston Marriott. Of course the hotel has been modernized, but it’s amazing views and well maintained lobby are still something to remember. As a child, I remember being in awe of the team of custodians carefully polishing all the brass railings when I was allowed to stay up late one night. It was a treat to see it again knowing it went on uninterrupted for the last 40 years. My only complaint: They no longer have electric shoe buffers in each guest room. My last stay was the first time I encountered one and I recall buffing the snot of out my Reebok high top sneakers. I was anxious to repeat the process now that I had a proper pair of wingtips. Sadly the buffer has gone the way of dodo 🦤 just like the ultimate luxury hotel accessory of the 1980s… a phone next to the porcelain throne. Still, the Copley Place Marriott is a reminder of luxury from an earlier time and definitely worth the price of admission.

Great customer service and excellent location. My only caveat would be that if you do not need an adjoining room and are assigned one, perhaps ask for another as those doors even when closed allow full conversations to permeate. In my case, I could hear a young child close to midnight still refusing to go to bed, understandably excited to be in a room with a view overlooking the amazing city of Boston! (Prior to that tome you could hear her or him joyfully playing while the adults conversed.) Perhaps there’s something they can do to better soundproof when those doors are not used. My solution as I’d been quietly working up to that time was yo turn on the Red Sox game. As soon as they too could hear the play by play action and realized how paper thin those doors are, silence abounded so no complaints. The room was great and the mattress extremely comfortable.

Enjoyed a wonderful stay here with my daughter for two nights as we explored the surrounding Boston area and all it had to offer. In the Back Bay. The rooms were extremely comfortable, clean and well lit, and a nice large TV. Housekeepers were very friendly on the floors and always said, good morning. The concierge was more than helpful and pointed us in the right direction whenever we needed some advice. The perfect location for doing a hub and spoke tour around Boston as we were picked up right in front by the hop on hop off bus. But connecting to the T is no problem either as it is very close by. the elite lounge was well stocked and breakfast was very nice. The attendance were most attentive. We ate in the restaurant twice and both times had very good meals. Definitely will be a stop again when I come to Boston.#stevensleavin

Location location location. Despite other hotels I've stayed in the city, it's hard to beat this location. It gives a lot of options for food, supermarket if you need it, the T is nearby, it's just the perfect location.

The comfort of staying in a Marriott definitely always meets expectations. Beds are good, bathrooms are good (thanks for the large amenities!). Nice staff. It's all comfortable.

Except that one time the fire alarm went off and I had to go down 27 floors but that isn't their fault. Just take note if it happens, those stairs are exhausting. Always have comfortable shoes.

I haven't had the opportunity to experience the full amenities that are available as yet but what I've seen so far is great. I look forward to upgrading my review to five stars in a day or two.

Nice accommodations, not much seating for free breakfast so we took our breakfast to go. End unit had light coming in through the window that wasn't great to sleep with. Not a bad place to stay a weekend.

Nice hotel close to the harbour. There are multiple buildings so expect to get wet and or cold at certain times of the year if you are given a room in another area away from the reception. Large clean, well equipped rooms.
