Hotel Lombardy is a well-located hotel housed in a 1920s building. It would be a perfect choice for any vacationer. It is close to the White House, the National Mall, Georgetown, George Washington University, and many good restaurants and shops. It is far enough away to be comfortable, but with easy access to subway stations, etc. The staff is very helpful and polite. The decor is deliberately retro, well-coordinated to create a feel that cannot be replicated today. They use Frette linens and bath towels, the shower pressure is excellent, and the water is hot. Luckily, the air conditioning does a great job of keeping the hot weather at bay. The room is meticulously clean, which you might have taken for granted before the pandemic, but is harder to guarantee now given the rife labor shortages. You should find a nearby parking space for your car because a) you are in the city and should use other transportation options and b) their valet parking is $52 per night. By the way, this price is likely to be found in other hotels in the city, so it is not excessive compared to other places. The breakfast served in their cafe was welcome, and our waiter Gamil was professional.

The room was absolutely perfect. The only issue was not enough lighting, and the heater couldn't hear the room. It was brutally cold the time we were there. As far as the service, oh my goodness. Calvin was absolutely the most unprofessional person I've ever dealt with at a hotel. We had 6 bags and all he did was grab them from the holding area, and dump them in front of us. He didn't offer to help or anything. I was shocked with his attitude.
Then, our roomservice meal had a hair in it, yet they still charged us.
At check out the gentleman who was helping us couldn't exert any energy to actually stand up. He literally stayed in his chair the entire time. I asked for an itemized statement (which I still haven't received) but he couldn't get the printer to work.
Other than the rooms, which can be found anywhere, I highly suggest staying at another hotel in DC. Their entire staff need hospitality training.

The hotel is old. We were given a room that smelled damp. Thanks to the staff for changing the room at once. The floors in the hotel are all creaky. At night on the top floor someone checked in, and we couldn't sleep for 2 hours because the whole floor creaked while people upstairs were laying out clothes. Also the bed creaked from the slightest movement. From early morning you could clearly hear the garbage truck picking up trash under the windows, even though we lived on the 7th floor. There were problems with the water supply, in the bathroom the water barely ran from the tap. We had a room with a kitchenette but there were no cutlery. If you want to save money and you do not care about all these little things, the hotel is suitable for you.

Historical building, so very good for people looking for that. The hallways were a little creepy for me but the service and every staff member were so so great.
ROOM: The rooms were clean, and the bed and pillows were SO comfortable. The shower also had great water pressure
LOCATION: This was in such a good spot in downtown DC, walking distance to LOTS of food options, not a far ride from the airport, and near a metro stop as well.

Overall nice experience. Henry at the front desk was great! The gentleman at the Bell service area was fantastic, very attentive, and had a warm glowing personality...I think his name was Keith. Historic building, old and quaint. If you're looking for a large inviting lobby, this might not be your place. The bar had a quaint sex appeal, the bartender was pleasant but less than mildly engaging.
Cool area with some trendy bars and places to eat. Rooms were a tad small but nice (ceiling fan was nice to have), separate area for table and snacks which was cool.

Great location. Besides the doormen, the personnel was not the most welcoming. To start, I was given a different room than what I booked and nobody mentioned anything. Secondly, for the price, the rooms are outdated. The bathtub had a curtain shower that really felt cheap as a set up, especially when paying +400$/night. The room was spacious but all the lights had to be individually turned off at the base of each lamp which can be annoying. Third, the space didn’t feel very clean. My room had a mini fridge, when opened, I found an insect inside which made the room feel dirty. Fourth, it might have been my room, but there was no sunlight during the day. Lastly, there was no card control to get into the elevator which gave the impression that anybody can just go up to the rooms, not ideal in 2024.
The location is perfect but for the same price you can get a much nicer and updated hotel nearby.
The doormen were both extremely nice and friendly, really appreciated them. I just wished the rest of the staff matched their energy and that the rooms were better kept.

The location is amazing. They have valet parking and the hotel has this feeling of being old but at the same time confortable and clean. My room was small but good enough. Bathroom are totally renovated.

I really wanted to like this hotel but....
Hotel location and accommodation were great but customer service sadly lacking.
Everything was great until we ordered room service. Called for breakfast at 8.10am on Sunday morning and was informed it would be 45-50 minutes which we said was OK. After an hour we called for a status and was told another 15 minutes. Breakfast arrived at 9.30am but without cutlery. Called down for cutlery and was told it would be sent up. Waited another 30 minutes while food got cold but cutlery never arrived. When checking out I explained what had happened and asked for the breakfast charge to be removed from the bill as we never got to eat it. Reception staff kept me waiting 15 minutes while manager checked with the kitchen and was then told that 'as a courtesy' they would not charge us for the breakfast. "AS A COURTESY" - REALLY! I asked to speak with the manager but she was happy hiding behind the reception staff. We left the hotel at 10.15am, very Hangry and in search of breakfast. Very disappointed and certainly won't be frequenting this hotel again nor recommending to family or friends.

I would give SIX stars if I could - flawless service and rooms, just wonderful. Rooms are gorgeous and have little kitchenettes, which is a nice touch. Location is great and the restaurant is really quite special.

The rooms are clean and nice and the kitchenette is a nice addition. The location is good for it's proximity to my work obligations. I have had some openers with the wifi which is really annoying.
