Love this hostel as the private rooms are so spacious! The beds and pillows are comfortable and the bathroom is clean! I love that there is a USB charging station in the room so no need for a plug! The staff can’t do enough to help! Oh and the windows open so you can get fresh air and check out the street!! I always stay here when in Melbourne. 😍 Thanks again!!
It was an alright hostel. Staff are very nice people. Good social scene. The negatives are the kitchen is very small. Like really small. There's not much fridge space for however many guests there are. They don't change the duvet which is kind of gross. We also got moved due to bed bugs ( a lady in our door was getting bitten ). However they did move our room and clean our clothes for free. Very professional...
Everything was great! My friends and I had a great time at this hostel, it was busy because it was grand final weekend, so the bar was pumping and had some really cheap drink specials. Met lots of cool people. Pancakes were yummy & perfect after a big night. Room was comfortable and spacious. Beds & bathrooms clean. Staff friendly & helpful
The rooms were comfortable and clean, but the kitchen is too small for several people to cook at once, most of the time dirty and only accessible until a certain hour. Good bar, they also serve nice free pancakes in the mornings. I do have to say that some of the staff were somewhat rude to some clients on a few occasions.
Know what you sign up for. It feels like a giant student's lodge. Crowded place. If you are single and between 18-25 this might be a cool place for you. Promotions on the wall spur you on to get drunk. Dutch girls grumpily complaining about nobody cleaning up the kitchen. (Then doing nothing to improve the situation.) Not a lot of particular charm to the building, generic vibe to the interior and pop...
For the price it was good. The cheaper alternatives aren't worth it. Atmosphere is great with events most nights. Definitely geared towards travellers in their twenties.

As you entered the property all you could smell was rubbish and there was a dirty nappy in the driveway
Unfortunately this place was a bit dinghy. It was hot with only 1 small air-conditioner to cool a huge space and 2 bedrooms. Location was good though. Close to supermarkets and shops.
Old and tired, confused communication, they tried to call me to see when I was coming but I had rung the day before and told them. Noisy neighbours. Decor far from great but it was clean and spacious. Not as good as the pictures
The train station is very close and travel is very convenient. Coles is just a few minutes away from the hotel. It is also very convenient to buy daily necessities.
Good location, quiet surrounding environment
Ample parking. Clean tidy rooms. Close to cafes and restaurants. Very comfortable beds. Only problem is that the bathroom is main bedroom and other guest in your apartment need to come through your room.

Great location close to the beach, rooms were cleaned daily and all the facilities were spotless. Everyone was friendly and the common areas were always busy and lots of energy. I had a great stay here and felt very comfortable. Stayed for a week and my 6 bed room was a decent size. The room and ensuite were cleaned every day which was great as it didn’t get very dirty at all. Met lots of lovely people and the staff were good too. The kitchen is small and there isn’t much room for food storage, but other than that it was great. The rooftop is a good place to chill too.
Me and my friend stayed here and we had a great time. Originally booked a 8 bed and got upgraded for free to a 4 bed. The staff are all super friendly and willing to help, especially Max ! They even had a travel agent who was amazing at helping us plan the rest of our trip! Would recommend! Alanah and Elly x
Liked · The staff member at reception, Liam, was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I was so pleasantly surprised at how nice the private room was, as I was expecting a VERY basic room (considering the very low price). There was a small fridge in the room, towels rolled up on each bed and a modern bathroom. The room was spacious and clean. The curtains were dark enough to keep the light out in...
If you're a backpacker looking for a nice hostel where it's really easy to get to know people, where the atmosphere is fun and cozy and where the staff genuinely try to solve problems and make your stay comfortable, choose Summer House Melbourne 💖 The location is great in St Kilda, the prices of the bar/restaurant downstairs are really cheap for hostel guests and it's easy to get to know others at...
I have been at Summer House Backpackers for 3 months now and it has been none stop love and laughter! Summer House has provided me with a job and the reception staff have allowed me to move rooms so I can be with my friends and much more comfortable. Summer House is super clean, sociable and has lots of weekly activities to join in with. My time here has been so enjoyable and it has been my favourite...

the lobby and hallway smells like piss. would reccommend to book other budget places as the budget for this place was not worth. the bathroom was not cleaned well. as well as stains were there on the bed linnen. could not get over how the place smells like piss. receptionist was also not that friendly. though it was at a good location! thats the best thing about it
Super convenient location. It is clean, and provided basic necessities. Not very comfortable mattresses. No one answered the phone when we called. No extra blankets when requested.
Location in free tram zone that is highly accessible to any places in Melbourne. Hotel will contact you if you're arriving after check-in hours or you will need to email them to inform on your arrival time. Guidelines will be given by hotel. In the room, you will get basic toiletries, free instant coffee/tea/sugar/creamer/milk, microwave, mini fridge, hair dryer, iron, and towels.
For the price I'm paying can't complain much, location is perfect but it's dirty
Carpet and windows was filthy. It’s impossible to leave your bag apart from the 3 hour check in window. Good luck to anyone arriving in the middle of the night.

Perfect for staying, recommended.
It was a nice easy overnight stay no complaints just in and out, it is an older hotel but we knew that when we booked.
Have to be honest I was very disappointed in the behaviour of the other rooms and a lot of yelling and screaming will probably not book this motel again
Affordable and comfortable. Very convenient location a minute drive from DFO and freeway. Will be booking next time 🙂
There are Chinese services and the parking lot is sufficient
Clean place good size room plenty of space. Beds were pritty average good for the night bathroom was outdated but clean and had what you need. Receptionist was very helpful they gave us early check in. Plenty of car parking spaces. Dfo up the road and coles some nice cafes and nice nac shops.

The apartment is clean and conducive. Furnished tastefully and complete. The washing machine serves us well. Location superb, the free tram stop is just in front of the building and made access to shopping centers, train station, bus terminal easy and fantastic. There are eateries at walking distance. Lift to the apartment is quick and not crowded. If come to Melbourne again, this will be my choice...
This place wasn’t too bad for the money factor, it was actually pretty sound proof the only noise we heard was from the wind being so high up. Good features about the property is that it has everything if you want to cook, washing machine, dryer, as well as some complementary things like body wash, shampoo, washing power to do washing. The location is good, free tram right out front into the City, Woolworths supermarket right across the road, and a few cafes which are open - but only during the week. Excellent, I am usually a 5 star girl but Mum was in hospital nearby and this fit the bill perfectly.
We were in a walk distance from the Rod Laver Arena. The room and beddings were spotless clean. We had everything we needed. Thank you! Leask family
This accomodation was fine for one night and allowed us to explore Melbourne city (CBD was a nice 30 minute walk away). The room was dated and basic, we requested a sofa bed which was not easy to make up and was very uncomfortable. Room needed a deep clean, the fridge was very dirty.
Nice location, simple but comfortable and clean Stayed there for the Australian Open, 20-25min walk. Close to train stations, supermarkets, 1-2 cafes for breakfast. The room was nice and airy, sofa bed was decent. Plenty of space. Could do with more clothing drawers esp if 2 or more are staying. The only drawback was the windows weren’t soundproof so woken up early every morning by traffic, garbage...
Easy going and light filled apartment. Very good location and CBD is an easy walk. Clean place and easy check-in.

Great location Perfectly located for our needs. Large room, fully equipped with everything we needed. Would be great for people needing to stay near the hospitals.
I stayed here while visiting family at nearby hospitals, and it was super convenient. It’s just a short walk to both the Royal Melbourne and Children’s Hospitals, which made things so much easier. Great value for money. The location was also perfect for my needs. From the moment I walked through the doors, the staff made me feel welcomed and valued. The room was clean, spacious, and well-appointed with amenities.
Ideally I’d give this Motel a 2.5/5 stars. It’s very affordable at $100 for 2 people a night. At least half the price of an airbnb, however it’s also half the quality. Rooms have fine amenities including a fridge, shower and air con. However the air con drips condensation onto the sink area below. The interior is a typical motel beige and brown colour scheme. Some stuff like the bottom of the fridge...

Surprisingly nice, perfectly clean, well maintained, nicely located budget accommodation. A little noisy with sound carrying through the building, but not too bad. We'll aim to stay here again next time.
This is a comfortable and affordable little place to stay. The street is busy with nightlife, but we had a lovely quiet room, and a nice breakfast spread out in the front room each morning. The beds were comfortable and clean. It's very close to the train station, so we could shoot into the city in record time. We wouldn't hesitate to book here again next time we are in Melbourne.

Bit noisy though, noise from the street as our room was at the front & from the train line that passes at the back where the outside seating is. Convenient location and free parking, close to the city. A lot of noise from neighbouring rooms at all hours and room needed to be aired for quite a while when we first entered.
I had 4 nights at the motel and it was perfect for my needs and exactly what I expected. It is a great location in terms of being able to walk to Abbotsford, Richmond, Collingwood or Fitzroy pubs. The bed was good and the bathroom was fine. Not a place I'd bring my wife but perfect for a bloke having a few nights in town.
Despite this property showing its age, and it would appear in the process of upgrading it was clean and tidy. If you are just after a room for a couple nights fits the bill. The hotel on the corner great for a quick meal and mcds just around corner good for quick coffee
Very convenient, a bit tired but the showers was hot with excellent pressure, the beds were comfy and we didn't find it particularly noisy.
Standart motel with free parking, tea and coffee, fridge and microwave in the room. The location is good, not too far from the center (1 bus from outside the motel and 1 hour walking). The aircon is very weak and there in no-ventilation in the rooms so it has a bit of smell when we arrived. It is close to many good food options and Smith street (nice nightlife)
The rooms were dirty and had broken furniture. No service. Had to go to ask for a towel, very poor. The bed was very comfortable and the room was reasonable quite. Parking is very tight, only for small cars and the gate shuts at eleven. Great location pity they don't lift their level of service and cleanliness.

Room was fine, shared bathroom was pretty dirty, activities, breakfast etc all good. Unfortunately Im 99% sure I left my sunglasses in the room, however they weren't 'found' by the cleaners, which is disappointing.
There are plenty of work & travellers who live there. As a tourist I find it dirty and noisy. Employees are really nice and friendly. Easy to go to the city.
Despite being in our fifties we felt right at home. The staff were lovely and we had everything we needed for our stay to be enjoyable. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathrooms clean and tidy. The Ritz is very handy to the trams and there is a lovely coffee shop just below. Thoroughly recommend this place.
Decent location, beach isn't far and you could walk to downtown if you wanted to. some pretty good restaurants are near. You'll want to go to them because the kitchen is poor. The room I was in was okay, it opens directly to the smoking pit, so the room smelt of tobacco constantly. There are lots of bathrooms which is uncommon for hostels. Staff is very friendly.
Good value for money, clean, in a good location for the beach and travel to the city. Quite a few long term residents. The introduction I received upon checking in was ok, didn't give much information about things to do in the area though.

Clean, comfortable, secure. I like how the wrist tag is a secure way of tapping-in to where you need to go. The beds were so comfortable and sheets were very clean. I like the ensuite bathrooms, added a touch of privacy.
Private double was small and dated. Bed pushed against the wall and only 1 plug socket! LP rates as “best hostel I. Melbourne” but there are better, cheaper options.
Great location, friendly staff, decent free pancakes, very helpful travel center, clean bedrooms/bathrooms, lots of hangout spots. It's a very large hostel so the atmosphere is what you'd expect of that.
A really good place to stay during a backpacking trip. The staff is so friendly and helpful. United backpackers often have some sort of even in the evening. There is a very good kitchen and lots of space to store your food.
A bit pricey but had clean rooms, every bed had their own reading lights and power outlets. My backpack actually fitted inside the provided locker which was nice. A bit too expensive but atleast the rooms didn't smell mouldy like in Discovery Backpackers. Check the nearby park by the river, the views are amazing!
Good hostel! Clean, good beds, big kitchen with cooking facilities. A big lounge downstairs and a bar, I liked it here! There's free WiFi but its very slow.

I loved it here. It was quiet and clean in the rooms. The lounge area was cool and friendly. The bathrooms were probably my fave haha. Very clean and had plenty of room for showering/toliets. They also split them for girls and boys so that’s perfect. And great spot in the city. I loved it here.
Fantastic hostel! Staff are super friendly and helpful. Kitchen facilities are well looked after - no ovens but the hobs are commercial grade and do most things you'll need. Great central location, very easy to get around the city with lots of nearby public transport options. Lots of differrent room types to accommodate you stay. Highly recommend if you're looking for an affordable and convenient hostel
