Alto Hotel On Bourque
Melbourne, 636 Bourke Street - 3000 🧭 Map
location plus it just feels like coming home when we stay at the Alto. Staff are wonderful
This is a great stay in Melbourne, it's a rare find when you have a hotel with heart. They do all they can for you to be comfortable and accommodating. Love the team there, friendly faces. I've stayed there so often and love it every time.
My husband and I stayed at the Alto Hotel for 6 months. Had a fabulous stay. We were looked after very well, the room was very good, may be just needs a bit more utilities in the kitchen, but overall a very pleasant stay. The staff were fantastic, especially Daniel & David. We were also offered a free night anytime we were back in Melbourne, which we did, and it was like coming home again. The free...
We stayed overnight. Great location 2 minutes walk from Southern Cross station. It has its own laundry if visiting and staying a few nights. Bed room clean and comfortable. Staff v friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.
So close to Southern Cross Station, free tram zone and some great restaurants and bars. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Will definitely stay again
Incredibly helpful staff, rooms clean, comfy and very, very quiet. Close to train and tram lines with shopping and dining options close. Definitely will be staying again on our next Melbourne trip.

Great bar, very nice and very comfortable room. My only complaint was that for a quality hotel the tea bags were dreadful.
Stayed here as it was convenient to an event we were attending. Overall property was great however it is not anyone liking a quiet night. Nearby very loud music woke us several times.
Had a very early morning appointment so stayed at the Amora Hotel Riverwalk in Richmond for 1 night. Booked online - absolutely straightforward exercise. Checked in on arrival - nice vibe in the foyer area - staff member greeted and welcomed me at the desk. Trouble free check in and headed to room on second floor. Given the price of the accommodation was not expecting that much but the standard room...
Bedroom was clean and most comfortable. Exactly what I was looking for. Top marks - I relaxed as soon as opened the door!
Wonderful hotel. Staff were so friendly and efficient especially the staff working in the restaurant for breakfast over the weekend. Breakfast was very good value including all the traditional buffet breakfast foods. I was in the One Bedroom Loft Apartment with Balcony which was certainly dated but comfortable and clean. I slept very well which is unusual for me in hotels. My room also had a mini...
The best bits: the staff were so friendly and helpful. The lobby area is very welcoming. The buffet breakfast was great value. The less good parts: rooms were tired. They’re kept clean, but even the sheets and curtains are showing signs of age and wear. The room (112) was spacious, but had very limited storage and hanging, so I had to drape a lot of my clothes over furniture. Power sockets are all...

I've been to this hotel multiple times and every stay is great! The staff are very respectful and understanding and I appreciate the affordable rates too. I've noticed an option to sleep in and delay checking out by 1 or 2 hours with a small fee and I hope that becomes a permanent feature at this hotel! I noticed a couple of pieces of lint in my shower when I showed up today but regardless that I highly...
Small and basic but clean and tidy room, with everything you would expect. Very quiet. Staff extremely professional and helpful. Very strategically located right next to both Elizabeth St tram stops. An excellent choice if you want central city accommodation, at a very competitive price!
Ibis Budget Melbourne is in a great location, and their standard rooms are great for individuals or close couples. They have other rooms for people who need more privacy. The room that we stayed in for two nights was small, but easily big enough for two people (with a good amount of storage space). A few small things were broken including one of the small lights over the bed and the faucet of the sink...
Exactly what I was expecting. It's a "budget", so the rooms are small, but good enough to have a good experience. Shower has great pressure; room is clean (hotel offers daily cleaning); smart TV; coffee/tea, kettle and mini fridge in the room; continental breakfast for $9. You have to bring your own hygiene amenities; good bedding and pillows; heater and ac available (didn't use). Location is the best...
This was exactly what you would expect from a 3 star budget hotel in the CBD. Decent location and good customer service at the front desk. My room was a reasonable size but looked very dated. The room had an old wall air conditioner and a radiator for a heater, but for a September stay, I didn't need to turn either on. The bathroom was more like a corner of the room which a curtain to make it a room...
Fantastic service and very clean. Will look after no matter what odd hour in the morning you arrive. The manager Andrew is an absolute champion who goes out of his way and above and beyond to help. He was very efficient in organising a car for me to use in Melbourne amongst other things. His staff and him always gladly assisted with a smile and enthusiasm

Very mixed opinion to be honest. For a penthouse apartment you would assume it would be clean and things would be looked after... The walls had glue and blue tack on them from previous stays, the bathroom had hair on the wall and roof, but to mention the fan not working and the mould on the tiles and dirty shower had. The balcony was quite dangerous, the wooden floor had holes and pieces missing resulting...
The hotel provides free unlimited water and milk, which is very rare. Most of the hotels we stayed in Australia did not have water. The service is also good, with staff 24 hours a day. The only inconvenience is that the parking spot is a bit far away.
I remember going here, many years ago when it was Mrs Parmas. Popped in on a Friday night looking for a less noisy place. A nice welcome by friendly professional staff. Good Beer choice and food offering.
Fantastic experience for me & teenager kids. We loved being so close to the Princess Theatre & great cafes & food & city centre. The staff were so welcoming and even changed the bar fridge when I said I’m not drinking alcohol so they changed it to suit us! Lollies & chomps in the lobby we’re a favourite and the towels & beds made each day. Staff outlined a map for suggestions & we felt so welcomed...
We had an early check in (which was unheard off without a cost these days) though our intention was to check if carpark/care off luggages were available. The room was a good size with TV in every room. The living space was huge and there were complimentary drinks and snacks in the room and at the lobby. It was a plesant expereince with amenities at bay - banks, restaurants, cafes, malls.
We loved everything about Laneways, from the way we were treated on the phone before arrival, all the way through until our departure. The hotel was stylish, bed incredibly comfy, and AMAZING extra touches like free mini bar and complimentary drink on arrival. We were in the heart of everything as well. Excellent location

Always a good welcome and so easy to get into town. Got to get the right rooms to get a nice view.
outside the st Kilda strip, located in the business district of st Kilda. Rooms are cozy and clean with modern amenities. Check in and check out was fast and easy.
This was the second time we have stayed here. Convenient and price is right. Pleasant room with all mod cons. Washing machine, dryer, kitchenette with dishwasher, modern bathroom. And all very clean. The only complaint was the mattress wasn't as comfy as the first time. Maybe we should have tried the 2nd bed out. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Will stay here again.

The location wasn't bad and the facilities weren't that great, but it wasn't a big problem. The room size is suitable for a single person, but it is a bit small for two people.
Great atmosphere and location. All the facilities you would want.
Dined in the intimate back bar which was perfect for us seeking a quiet space to converse. The main dining/bar area had bar access and screens to watch the footy and a full menu which we were also able to order from in the back room. The wine selection must be one of the best in the country. Seriously. The Somme was accommodating and helpful and the staff attentive and engaging but unobtrusive. Exactly...
Superior room with balconies are delightful, with gorgeous views of the bay, distant CBD and Fitzroy Street. The only issue is lack of soundproofing with constant late night noise, particularly in the ‘inner’ rooms that don’t face out onto the street. Pay extra for a Superior room facing towards Fitzroy Street. Happy, friendly staff and decent prices. Unbeatable location unless you need to be in the...
Nice stay! The staff were friendly, helpful, & welcoming. We stayed in the boutique room, it was smaller than expected and we were disappointed that the pool area was not open during the autumn months. The room could do with a deep clean but nonetheless we had a good experience & would recommend!
Great venue for the wedding reception. Food was excellent. Service was very good. Rooms were good.....Roomy.. Though could have had a chest of drawers.... And a bigger tv that I could cast to. Also the room we had had a raised wooden platform for the bed area.... Could be a bit of a hazard if you needed to get up in the middle of the night.... Bit if a trip hazard.

This hotel is perfectly placed to explore the areas around South Yarra.  The train station is a few minutes walk away at the top of the road on Toorak Road, with the CBD being only 2 stops away.  It is just as easy to access other lovely areas around, such as Prahran Market, Brighton (famous beach huts) and many others.  Staff at the hotel are very helpful and pleasant with nothing being too much trouble...
It was a great room, and great customer service! The bed was very soft and I love the views from the balcony
Very convenient, close to the station
Very conveniently situated beside a train station and tramt stop with abundant shopping and dining. A short walk away. My apartment clearly had not been clean thoroughly with food left in the fridge from a previous guest and bed sheets were not tucked in properly. Apartment looked dark and gloomy due to the colors of the carpet and Furniture with numerous scuff marks on the white walls. Maintenance...
The room is large, has a terrace and a wide view. The kitchen is fully equipped, as well as a washer and dryer; in the bathroom, as expected, you must bring your own mouthwash supplies, and slippers are not provided. There are fewer shops nearby at night. There is a convenience store at the subway station next to it, but it is not open permanently. There is a supermarket about ten minutes' walk away...
Well equipped with washing machine and DRYER(!!!) in the room. Excellent service and view from balcony.

Had a unit with 2 rooms. It has the equipment ready for a home such as washer dryer, fridge, microwave oven. Other than the room, basically a place for you to sleep and wash up and move on. Food options nearby is almost none, so be prepared to drive further to get better food options.
Clean, tidy, and bright. Great choice for a business travel.
Everything is nice and easy for check in/out. No parking fee, and close to the supermarket.
The guest house enjoys a prime location, and the check - in process is a breeze. The rooms are not only spotlessly clean but also possess a unique charm. Should my friends plan a visit to Stanley, I will definitely recommend they stay here.
Close to the airport and 30 minutes drive to the city center. Shuttle to the airport only runs on the weekdays. Sell food and snacks at their lobby. There is a coffee and pizza truck outside of hotel. I was able to check in my luggage prior to my stay and the luggage was already sent to my room before my arrival.
Very nice hotel, locate 5KM to Melbourne airport. Hotel has free parking service and is really good for self drive. Room size is big and clean, highly recommend

Good place to stay, clean room and there’s lot of restaurants nearby
Facilities: General, but there are no disposable slippers, disposable razors, and shower gel in the room. There was only one bar of soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion in the bathroom.
It's pretty good, nothing wrong with it except that it's expensive.
We didn't stay here, but we contacted the customer service to return a Kinto vehicle in a Kinto car space on site (as our original spot was illegally occupied). Customer service agent is excellent, super friendly, helpful, and guided us into the parking over the phone.

Great location, within walking distance to the closest tram and train stations. Got upgraded to a king room upon arrival with a lovely warm choc chip cookie. The room was clean and comfortable. Throughly enjoyed my stay!
The staff was very friendly and I was so glad that the room was ready earlier than check it time. I know this is depending the situation but helped me a lot to organise to meet my friends! Highly recommend the hotel.
Always enjoy staying, location is also very good. Will defintely stay at Double Tree Hilton whenever we come to Melbourne.
I recently stayed at this hotel and had a great experience. The location is excellent—right across the street from a major transportation hub, making it super convenient to get around. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.
Good location - near the Yarra River. Plenty of food options in the vicinity Only downside is it's a little far from Southern Cross Station but we are talking about a few free Tram stops and some walking.

Excellent service. Great place to meet for a business breakfast. Enjoyed the avocado on toast with poached egg. Was really good. Coffee was nice too. Recommended.
Great little Boutique hotel. Stayed a night for the footy finals. Woken by very loud construction noise. Room was ok and good service. Probably would stay again but after the construction next door had finished.
This was a great boutique stay (accor). We often stay Sofitel when in Melbourne but gave this a try. Great room service and staff. Idea location and Lindrum had a deal next door with Wilson for parking. Breakfast included which we ordered off a menu ( good food and service) Staying there again shortly, but flying in this time. SERIOUSLY I can't fault this for a stay.... and value for money
Nice hotel, great location. Unfortunately there was a lot of construction going on just outside my room. Started at 7am and went until 5, and very loud at times. Construction lighting at night bright like daylight, and room curtains did not adequately block it out.
Unique little hotel. Nice room. Only setback is that there are no on site parking. Valet parking would be nice
Rooms are well appointed. Bed was great. Some free paytv channels. Robes and toiletries a nice touch. Staff super friendly and helpful. Has a trendy vibe and nice decor. Full size snooker table a nice touchstone to the past.

We arrived to be greeted with a welcoming smile, check in was swift and hotels facilities explained. The room was on the upper level thanks to our unexpected upgrade. The room was well appointed with a top city view. It was warm and well set out. The bed was large with a lot of pillows to choose from. Excellent shower and bathroom facilities. We enjoyed our stay.
It was suitable for it's purpose (overnight stay with an early morning leave) and the bed was clean and comfortable. However the room was much smaller than was advertised and the bathroom needed upgrading. The main reason for my score not reaching "8" was the fact that I had to clean the kitchen before leaving - which takes time unnecessarily, and almost defeats the purpose of renting a motel room...

Clean and nice service. Arrived early in the morning, let me early check in to get the time fresh it and take a rest before start my business day.
The stay was small as I only needed it for one night, but the room itself was also quite small. The room had a single bed on wheels that would move very freely whenever I tried to sit down on it. Discrete apartment style Hotel with high end fittings. I chose this hotel primarily for the location as South Yarra has everything (restaurants, shops and transport) without the tourists.
