Great massage and the person who greets you at lunch and Dinner is fantastic. His name is Anton.
The rooms were taken care of with only the towels, toiletpaper, sink, toilet and sweeping the floors. The sheets were never changed in the 11 days I was there. Very sad. This is an international 3 star hotel disguising itself as a 5 star in Bulgaria.
The pools were never cleaned and I never saw someone or machine cleaning them even at night. That apparently means same water for how long? Please let a moment for that to sink in.
Food: The hotdogs were changed out and the buns were the type that have the hole in the middle and you slip the dog inside. So, hotdogs were bigger than the hole and the guy tried to serve my young son one with it being forcefully pushed in and 3/4 sticking out in some grotesque hybrid. I asked him to at least cut the bread down the hole so that I can put the dog in more appropriately.
Training day for 2 cooks. 1st was making pancakes the size of a lemon slice and the second was making omelet with what seemed to be raw ingredients. Meanwhile both chefs who were supervising were indifferent to any mistakes while they were there. Couple of days later same junior chef was caught burning the pancakes outside for snacks.Of course then they had to clean the whole girdle. The bacon they cook is not crispy! A hotel in Spain and Turkiye were able to do it the same way but kept the bacon a little bit more spaced out for a little while longer and it turned out great.
The food manager looks like he should retire and let someone younger and more in the new standard of food business take over. Not caring starts at the top always!
Staff are friendly but during any event they would rather repeat the same message in Czech,Polish, and Bulgarian instead of at least once in English. Also any information is not in English anywhere. They say that they had it last year but that doesn't help me this year.
8 lev for a token to play Billiards is insane and ridiculous for anyone. Basically 4 euro for a coin op pool table. I might add that its the same for a game of fuzzball. Also there appears to be swimming pool rules that are not enforced. Like leaving towels on a sun bed and then leaving for the entire day and no one cares that others might want to be in the shade while you're outside and about. Smoking is everywhere and as someone who quit smoking I find the lack of respect astonishing. I find this Hotel is a mix of everything, good in many aspects but seriously lacking in others.
Would I come again? Most likely not. I would most likely search out other hotels in the North of Bulgaria since if this is a 5 star Southern Hotel, I'm inclined to see if the North offers better standards of accommodations and more customer centric approach.
My recent stay at the Alexandria Belvedere left me in awe. As one of the top three hotels on the Bulgarian coast, it surpasses expectations with its outstanding service, breathtaking views, and unparalleled attention to detail. From the moment I arrived, I was enveloped in a world of luxury and tranquility.
If you're looking for a luxurious, clean, and relaxing getaway on the Bulgarian coast, Alexandria Belvedere is your top choice. With its immaculate rooms, stunning pools, and breathtaking views, it’s a hotel that truly lives up to its reputation as one of the best on the coast. I can't recommend it highly enough!
Slight issue is the noise from the amusement park nearby but at 23 the music stops and it's bareable. Before that it's insanely loud so if you have young kids ask for a room with a pool view instead.
Two pools, very crowded, but clean and well maintained. Definitely not enough and too small umbrellas, and the chairs are hard to get after 10:00. The animation is as noisy as everywhere else and it's mostly in Chezh. English seemed forbidden among the team :D Other than that it's a standard schedule - kids club, sport and night activities.
The room cleaning is every day, and the staff is numerous everywhere. Half of them don't speak Bulgarian which for me personally wasn't a problem at all. They were all super kind and dedicated.
Huge minus for me is the beach and the lack of a beach bar. Their umbrellas are far away (it says 60m from the north beach entrance but it's more). The umbrellas are also super small - barely enough for one sun bed (which are also massively broken and dirty), the guardian is totally inadequate and/or doesn't care at all. We were using the paid area next to the entrance so found a solution, but whoever relies on the included in the price, might have a bad surprise. If you go for our option, prepare 20 euro a day + whatever you want to spend on beverages at the bar (obviously not very cheap even for basic stuff like water and coffee).
The parking service and Reception were great!
The food was fine. We didn't experience super variety but definitely didn't stay hungry and everything was tasty. Slightly annoying arrangements - all the stations were super spread and had to run in five different directions to get what you need but it was manageable. During peak hour is madness (the hotel was completely packed) but the numerous staff managed to clean and refill super fast. There is a separate sweet shop where you can grab a bite all day long. The pancakes, pizza, popcorn and ice-cream are also available during the whole day so the kids (and not only :D) were very happy. Now don't expect miracles - two types of pizza and four types of ice-cream but delicious which matters the most!
The soft drinks are from a mix machine, the water is from dispenser, the beer is on tap.
All in all, great experience! Definitely worth a try :)
Great looking spacious rooms with trezor, balcony and complimentary water and wine. Mattresses are soft and towels changed daily.
The restaurant here is simply delicious, kid friendly food (and chairs), lot of meat and side dish choices (including fish), vegetables, tasty cakes, fresh fruits, beer, wine, soft drinks and juices. Even diet food and ice cream. Staff cleans and adds new food all the time.
Between big meals, snacks are almost always open and one can get pizza, popcorn, pancakes, fruits, hotdog, cakes and ice-cream, etc. Drinks as well.
There are two nice deep pools and one small child friendly one . Several toboggans and pirate ship for smallest kids. You can rent a daily refreshed towel for the pool.
There is kid club in Czech, fitness and last but not least - awesome animators, always smiling, friendly, working very hard so everyone can have fun.
