Leonardo Royal Hotel Baden- Baden

Very modest hotel. Expensive breakfast, noisy place and old hotel. It's not worth what you pay for.

Arrived at the hotel a couple hours early and no attempt was made to get the room ready for us any quicker so we had to wait around for hours. I understand check in is at 3pm but checkout for previous guests is 12pm so surely they could have tried to have the room ready for us around 1 or 2pm but this wasn’t the case and we had to wait.

Next, all spa facilities are closed. I wasn’t made aware of this prior to booking or would have never booked this hotel. That was the main reason for my stay, to chill out and relax. My entire gym routine was ruined for the duration of my stay. When asked for compensation for the lack of available spa facilities I suggested maybe a meal on the house or even some drinks from the bar for the inconvenience however both were rejected. The only thing that was offered to me was a free bottle of still water from the bar which I politely declined.

Also, we were charged twice for our room and I am waiting for this to be resolved still.

Other than that the room is nice and clean and the staff are friendly enough I guess.

Room was unclear and many, many insect inside the room. Receptionist argue the reason is nature and trees near around hotel but this was full big family of flying bugs and spiders leaving in curtain, around window and under the bar. Room was disappointment. Old and dirty pool and common spaces. Breakfast was very Nice as well as staff.

We booked this hotel for 4 people.
Tired after traveling all day, we arrive at the hotel late in the evening whereupon the receptionist says that we have only booked for 3 people. We show our confirmation but she refuses to believe us.
Once we get to the room, it's only made for 2 people.
The next morning we will go and have breakfast. The same rude receptionist says we haven't booked breakfast even though we were able to show confirmation that we had. So even though we paid for breakfast, we were left without it because of this receptionist.
We contacted the company through which we booked the hotel stay, who in turn called the hotel to check what the problem was, but this receptionist hung up on them.
The worst was when we had been away all day and arrived at the hotel in the afternoon, this unpleasant receptionist checked us out even though we paid for two nights.
Luckily for her, she had finished for the day. Her colleague apologized profusely and of course let us in. This receptionist could clearly see that we had booked for both 4 people, breakfast and for 2 nights. Do we need to say that the rude receptionist should not work in service??
