Heating does not work. Turning it up yields no result. The sink is clogged. There is nothing here, you can not even make yourself a cup of tea. Any decent hotel would at least provide you with that. It is so basic and spartan. Yet paying 80€ a night for this sham. Prison would be more comfortable, in fact the room looks like a cell. The matras is very hard. Wifi is not always working, twice this evening there was a connection to the wifi but there was no data. There is no assistance at night to either fix the sink or make sure the connection works. What a rip off.

It appears we were the only ones in the hotel. That is why the heater was turned off. The next day after complaining we were given a different room on a lower floor “where the heating would reach”. The lady was very nice and we were given a free breakfast as compensation. Very sweet. It softened me. However that first night was still below standard

The adventure starts here! This slogan greeted me at reception when I wanted to check in after 7 p.m. on a Friday evening with temperatures over 30 degrees. The room was on the 3rd floor and the friendly receptionist asked me if I needed a lift. When I said yes, he explained to me that the hotel lift was unfortunately broken, but that I could leave the hotel and use the lift in the building next door and then get back into the hotel via an entrance to the room on the floor. The room was furnished as expected, very well decorated and clean. There was even air conditioning, although I would have liked a small fridge. The window was folded open so that the outside temperature was also in the room. The hotel is located at a fairly busy intersection with a tram stop. So of course I closed the window and wanted to turn on the air conditioning. Unfortunately, the operating instructions did not match the control element of the system. A friendly and helpful employee who I spoke to in the hallway explained how it worked: set the temperature control to the maximum RED, put the on/off switch in the right position - which unfortunately wasn't labeled - and then regulate the ventilation as required. When I pointed out that the room was already much too warm and I didn't want to add any more heat, she told me that was fine, because the system was switched over in winter and that it would of course take a while for the desired effect to take hold. Hours later I had the choice: either not being able to sleep because of the heat, or opening the window wide, letting in the now cooler night air and not being able to sleep because of the traffic noise... . In any case, the air conditioning wasn't working. The same friendly employee confirmed this to me when I handed in the key the next morning, saying that she had unfortunately discovered this the night before. She took it as a hint that a socket was loose and a reading lamp on the bed wasn't working either. The breakfast was appropriate for the price in terms of selection and quality, unfortunately there were no hot dishes on offer.

Not the room we booked, lady at the reception had a huge hangover and really didn't feel like helping (or pretending). At 2pm this afternoon (so we are not available) a colleague comes to discuss a few things with us... Next time I will book somewhere else, Berlin is big enough not to have to sleep here.

To avoid! Disorganized hotel, useless and incompetent staff. Following a late arrival, the machine to automatically check in was out of order. We contacted the hotel who did not understand a word of English or French, he was unable to find our reservation and invited us to find another hotel at 1:30 in the morning. So we found ourselves without a hotel, because he did not want to make an effort to understand. We will never set foot in an ibis budget again because spending the night in your car after a 7-hour drive is no thank you!! So avoid this hotel if you do not want to end up on the street. Their response via Google further supported my thinking, we checked in online, we informed the hotel that we were arriving after 11 p.m. and that check-in would be autonomous... it does not matter, we found a much better hotel the next day, where we were respected until the end.
