Hotel am Jakobsmarkt

A delightful stay in the comfort of Old Town with quick, easy access to the best parts of Nuremberg. Attentive staff who respond well to requests and provide satisfactory service. Excellent breakfast and good space in rooms, which are well ventilated.

We stayed at the Hotel am Jakobsmarkt for two and a half weeks in August 2025 and could not have been more pleased with the hotel. It was outstanding in every way.

We stayed in the "Double room Anno 1552” in a 16th century half-timbered house directly adjacent to the main hotel. The room itself was very modern and comfortable and it had so much character and a great feel about it. The room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and it was very, very quiet. It had a desk and a mini refrigerator.

The location was perfect. It was a close walk to all of the main sites and attractions in the old town, and there was a nearby metro station, grocery stores, and cafes. And one of the best German restaurants in the city - Historische Bratwurstküche
Zum gulden Stern - was two doors down.

The staff were helpful, efficient, and friendly.

We had originally only booked six nights here and had planned to try a different hotel, but we liked the Hotel am Jakobsmarkt so much that we stayed for the duration of our time in Nurnberg. We will definitely be back again!

I have stayed there 2 nights 3 days, The room that was given smelled strongly of paint because the hotel was under maintenance. I went to the reception and requested a change of room. I could not stay here because I have asthma. The hotel responded positively to my request.

A comfortable and very clean hotel, very well looked after. Location is central and very easy to walk to and from the station as well as around the old city. One thing that would make it more comfortable is to have a kettle in the room, to make a cup of tea/coffee.

It is a cozy hotel, it is very well cleaned every day. I had a small room which was very comfy. The place is close to the transport. The breakfast was great, too much meat though.

Great location of the hotel, you can walk to the center in a few minutes. Most tourist attractions are within walking distance.

There are several excellent restaurants close to the hotel. Several supermarkets can be reached in a few minutes. Close to metro and tram stops.

Parking is possible in the parking lot in the yard behind the hotel, this parking is free of charge. If there is no space available, you can park on the street in front of the hotel or in the parking garage just a block away.

Very nice, helpful staff. At the reception, you can sit, have a beer, coffee or water.

The breakfasts were great, see photo, the food was constantly replenished. The choice of food was really wide and varied. Everything was fresh. There was plenty of seating. Breakfast staff very helpful and nice.

I didn't notice air conditioning in the hotel, there certainly wasn't any in the rooms. It's fine in the winter, but I can imagine it can get hot in the hot summer.

The room was spacious, plenty of storage space, very comfortable bed and pillows. I really appreciate the fridge in the room and the free bottle of water. The shower was smaller. We also had the opportunity to try a single room. I was surprised how the quality of this room was lower compared to the double room - uncomfortable hard mattress, the shower was open so after showering you have water all over the bathroom, the sink is not in the bathroom but part of the room, the bathroom is poorly ventilated.
