Reviews
The rooms are modestly sized unless you book a junior suite or larger, and the bathrooms are older, so have tub/shower combos rather than a separate shower. Beds are not particularly comfortable. Controlljng room temp is challenging - it was always hot for us. Rooms facing the train station collect a lot of train noise deep into the evening/night.
Breakfast is average. The space is great. The food is just ok, for a Le Meridian. I don’t know, for example, why a restaurant here would serve mixed fruits rather than individual fruits.
Our reserved room type was not available on arrival. This took a night to sort out, and was ultimately resolved to our satisfaction, but started us off on the wrong foot. Check your reservation carefully.
The staff and leadership were beyond rude, showing no regard for customer service. The breakfast was atrocious with overcooked food, and the hotel room was extremely worn and outdated. Everything in this hotel is overpriced, and they don’t care about their patrons, only the money they can gouge out of them. While I could overlook some of these issues, the fact that they refused to honor my early departure and forced me to pay an exorbitant room rate for a night I didn’t stay is downright unethical.
DO NOT STAY HERE—there are other fine hotels in town which are much more accommodating and go out of their way to ensure you have a pleasant stay.
I will be escalating this matter to Marriott and my company’s travel agency. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. Save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere!
The hotel is glamorous with marble floors and walls in the public spaces. The bar is comfortable and has a great corner window booth for people watching. The fitness center is adequate and includes large changing rooms, showers and saunas. I worked out twice during my two night stay.
The room experience will vary greatly based on what you are assigned. I was traveling with my sister, and we each had a room - paid for with Marriott points. The points were the same for both rooms. One room was large, with a couch, a nice desk and two windows. It also had a great soaking tub (which I used four times in two days!) and a large bathroom. The other room was small, with a tiny shower stall smaller than the one on the riverboat cabin we just experienced. My sister was nice enough to let me have the room with a tub!
The breakfast buffet had plenty of options. I particularly enjoyed the fried eggs ready to go - quick and easy and perfectly cooked. The chef was there to cook omelets as well. I have seen more extensive buffets but this was definitely among the top. Fresh squeezed OJ and champagne was a nice touch!
The front desk team was helpful and friendly. We appreciated an early check-in opportunity for one of the two rooms, because we were tired and ready to rest before exploring the town.
I would definitely stay here again.
I mean that distance between bed and wall where TV hangs was too small.
The cosmetic is very good and smells nice. The bathroom is big. Probably bigger than the room))
If you like to watch TV, you should consider all German channels. There were couple of French channels.
My windows were looking to the atrium, and it was so quiet there.
I highly recommend this hotel 🏨
