Radisson Blu Schwarzer Bock Hotel in Wiesbaden

When I arrived at the Hotel Schwarzer Bock, founded in 1486 and now part of Radisson Blu, I immediately felt as if I had stepped into another time. There’s a quiet sense of history in the air – not staged, but real. Everything in the building seems cared for with genuine love and attention to detail. Walking through the hallways, you hear the soft creak of old wood and see the gentle light streaming through tall windows – quiet companions that remind you this house has stood for centuries. My room felt elegant and calm, with warm, harmonizing colors that blended beautifully with the building’s historic charm. The location couldn’t be better: right in the heart of Wiesbaden, only a few steps from the Kurhaus, the State Theatre, and inviting cafés.

I was genuinely impressed that a major hotel brand like Radisson chose to preserve the character of a listed historic property rather than transform it into something unrecognizable. Here, the past hasn’t been erased but embraced. Breakfast was another highlight. The team was warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive – the kind of service that makes you feel truly welcome. Later, I spent two quiet hours in the “Badhaus,” which can be booked privately.
Staying here felt like much more than just two nights in a hotel – it was a truly special experience, where history, comfort, and quiet elegance come together in the most beautiful way.

And as I sat in the lounge before leaving, I could almost picture Hercule Poirot looking up from his newspaper, smiling slightly:
“The little details, mon ami, they are what make the whole complete.”

A place full of soul, grace, and stories that linger long after you’ve gone.

Oldest Hotel in Europe? Opened in 1486. Maybe haunted...did you see the lady on the stairs near the lobby too? Dated (obviously) but not worn out! Nice rooms, shower, bedding, service, public spaces...I liked it! I would stay here again - the location is great.

I love visiting Germany, even if it's for only a few days like this recent visit. Wiesbaden was my city of choice this time and Radisson Blu Schwatzer Bock was my hotel of choice. Both were great decisions. Wiesbaden is a nice and surprisingly quiet city and this hotel was perfect for my stay in town.
The front desk staff was super helpful in accommodating me with an early check-in... I mean a super early check-in. The room was clean and in good order. The location was perfect for checking out the whole area on foot. Overall, my stay has been great and this hotel has checked all my boxes and is one that I would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Wiesbaden.

Little dated and elevation were old but breakfast was very good and very centrally located to the old town and walking section of town
