Hotel Zapata

The staff here is rude and unaccomodating. They’ve never heard of customer service and talk to customers like we’re not wanted. Ask for anything and they can’t give it to you. Don’t expect breakfast at any kind of decent time as apparently you can’t get anything from the kitchen until almost lunch time. The rooms are bare bones. They’re is no phone in the room and no control for the AC. However the worst part is the staff. They expect to speak to paying customers any way they want and refuse to accommodate any request you might have. If you ask twice then you might get a worker raising their voice at you because you’ve made them mad at asking twice. The front door is locked and the only way to enter the hotel again when you leave is to ring a doorbell and wait for someone to get up and open the door. Completely ghetto. The room key is attached to a gigantic plastic tag that is cumbersome and doesn’t fit in your pocket and beach access is locked well into the morning so forget going for a run on the beach. Overall terrible awful customer service and zero respect for the money hard working people spend to go on vacation. Hopefully this place gets new owners and improves customer service as the location is good.

Too much humidityin the rooms, not clean, very poor breakfast for a long time waiting, only location is good...

NOISE!
The Disco next door plays loud thumping music until midnight every night and people are outside screaming and yelling.
Impossible to sleep for all the noise not at all a relaxing place to stay.
Stayed here in January 2018 as others have said the rooms are very comfortable and clean good working AC it's one of the smaller properties and I think is priced high for the area. It has good security I would not recommend eating here the food is not good. As soon as you step off the property on to the beach you will be surrounded by locals trying to sell you garbage that is the one downside of the location near the public beach. There are nicer looking properties just a little ways from this one down the beach that have private beaches anf would be more calm and peaceful away from the vendors however I don't know their prices.

I definitely would not recommend this place if you want a good vacation. The room has cockroaches and ants. Ants were in the bathroom and near the bed. The quality of the furniture is very old. The toilet has issues flushing. I asked for a refund for the last 2 days of my stay because of all the issues. They said no. I do not recommend 😐

Staff are very nice and dedicated. I was arriving at 9 pm and the front desk lady went out to the street to meet me. The facilities, however, are very shabby let's say. The pictures make it look so much better. The bathroom and room furniture were very worn, with broken items and a used soap was left in the shower. A 2 star facility at best.
