Hotels on first line in Puerto Plata

Just one thing to mention, it would be a bit difficult for elderly people to get in and out of the water at the beach and wear water shoes. My only complaint, they need better internet service

Rooms were outdated they need a lot of maintenance. Coffee shop, pizza shop and ice cream are a plus. The buffet needs more options. People are fighting to get seafood or any decent food

The rooms were a bit outdated. Beach is very nice, pool is good. They close the pool at a certain time which sucks

The staff are amazing and work very hard. The beach is nice and lots of chairs, it's never an issue to find a seat. Very close to go into town for a day of shopping

The food was delicious and diversified, especially the fruits. Mine favorite was melon water 🍉. The beach was good not excellent, but good. The stuff was gently and discreet, ever in position

Service was great overall! The staff that were in charge of all the water activities were very nice and helpful when it came to informing my family and I about the banana boat and kayaking

Entertainment was new everyday even the outside games were different lot of nice people

Overall it was great, but at some point the AC in my room did break

Asides from the the service from everyone was impeccable our roomkeeper Maritza was phenomenal and very attentive to us!! Gracias Maritza! Do not buy your souvenirs at the hotel i bought 6 bracelets that totaled to 2500 DOP which is equivalent to around 40 bucks

Older looking rooms but very clean and air-conditioning excellent. The resort had delicious buffet, snack bars and restaurants

Place has a very amazing view between beach and mountains, mattresses are a little to hard, all the employees were very nice and helpful, pool is big and well maintained, my boyfriend only had an issue with a cleaning lady that she wouldn’t let him go in the bathroom without a towel just because he was wet

Everyone was helpful and friendly. This was my first all inclusive resort and I had an amazing time

A nice place to have a restful vacation with many amenities for those who want to have a bit more fun. Clean and very comfortable rooms

They have theme restaurants for which you don’t need a reservation which is nice. There’s only one big pool and a smaller one. the setup of this resort is not conducive to visiting the beach

As a matter of fact, they recommend you to enjoy the pool instead of the beach. The service received at all restaurants, the bartenders, the front desk, the cleaning staff was great

the beach area was not that impressive maybe due to the time of the year but overall worth going

It's the perfect location, perfect size and the food is always so good! We requested the same room as last time as in my opinion it's the best location (16103, SunClub family section) and we got it! Obviously requests aren't guaranteed, but they definitely came through for us 😃

Lot of activities- you just need to book it in advance and ask for it. Cons: Average food and subpar drink, limited food options, small pool, their obsession above beach towels inventory, small resort, smaller rooms

Pros: It's still Caribbean experience, very beautiful beach, few free activities that are not free in resort normally, excellent staff who is doing their best to attend to your need. Restaurants are above average

Jacqueline who does the excursion is wonderful. So many options and things to do. The food was good, you just have to make sure you make reservations in advance for the restaurants or you'll be at the buffet

I was told this resort is over 40 years old and 1 of the few that's left in Puerto Plata. So keep this in mind when booking. Majority of the staff were pleasant and always nice

Overall I had a great time and this isn't a party resort so by 11 pm all entertainment is done

The customer service was above and beyond from all the staff, from the breakfast, lunch, dinner, bar, cleaning, they were all brilliant, absolutely amazing! I can't say how beautiful they made our holiday, they strive to help every day, they are all so friendly and welcoming and they all go over and beyond to make your stay that extra bit more magical

Great HIIT gym class with Bryan. It's nice to have gym classes offered on vacation. The food selection and quality are also great. The staff is friendly and helpful

We absolutely loved our stay! Service was impeccable and the best I’ve ever seen! Ony, Lizbeth, Antonio, Richard, and the beach bartender were phenomenal! Housekeeping did an amazing job, and the resort team fully felt like family! We miss them all already! Special love to Stephanie!

You can always find delicious food to eat at anytime, the breakfast is delicious, dinner offers many options, Japanese, Italian and Spanish foods. Can’t wait to return to this family oriented resort

The beaches and pools were varied, always clean and with different vibes depending on what you wanted - family oriented or adult only pools with swim up bars or whirlpools

We had a great time here! Ok, admittedly the sales pitch was annoying. But after those 90 minutes, we had great service, good food, so much fun on the beach and pools!

I had booked a 3-night stay at this resort and 1 day before I started reading other people's reviews. I was scared and my expectations were very low, but I'm glad I didn't cancel

the room was a nice size ,TV small about 24 in , but hey I was there to Vacation and relax not watch TV , the shower water was cold ,but the tub had a hand held shower which I used, was luke worm, and the sink water got hotter than both ,loved the cabanas on the beach

Room looked nice but lots of things didn’t work and They didn’t tell us about the toilet situation until late. View was amazing on the beach. Wouldn't visit again or recommend

We were very surprised that check-in is at 3PM, they don't let you enter before, you have to wait sitting in the lobby. Thank goodness they started allowing check-in at 2PM and we managed to eat at the buffet

Great part of the hotel. Nice employee and great atmosphere. Calm and relaxing holiday you will have for sure. And if you like business and entertainment you walk 2 min to the other pool and you can enjoy that

Checked in to The Grand Paradise on Saturday and I absolutely love it here. It is beyond beautiful and the service at Cooee is amazing. Everyone here really goes the extra mile to make you happy, I never want leave.

Can recommend the upgrade to cooee as it gives your stay besides an exclusive touch, access to vip area, a frequently changing snack bar as well as table service

Amazing Hotel, very clean, good drinks and chilled atmosphere

The whole experience has been amazing and I would come back here for the shows at night, the fun pool side dancing and games they play

The sand was nice and white and clean, there were people offering different amenities at the beach, but were very decent no one was over the top trying to sell

The beaches at Puerto Plata are not as good because of strong waves making it a bit uncomfortable to enjoy it

I stayed at this resort with my family for 2 nights and 3 days. And they had great activities for the morning and the night for both the kids and the adults. They have aerobics and great food at almost every hour

Pool bar ran out of favorite drink after me getting 3 drinks and never restocked, the concierge assigned to us did not care for us as customers he just saw us as a commission, he didn’t file our complaints neither was interested in doing so

The food is delicious, the rooms are very nice and confortable, the beach and the pool are beautiful, as well as the landscape towards the beach

I stayed here for 3 days in April 2018. The reviews about disrepair are accurate and some of the food is just average. That said, the staff was perfectly polite and helpful. Despite the disrepair, the place is immaculate

The buffets are a solid B+ if you pick the right things (target made-to-order stuff). One of the groundskeepers gave me a coconut today after he cut it from a tree

i had such a great experience staying at viva heavens this july. this is more of a family friendly resort. it has a great view from the beach & clean. lots of day and night entertainment

Something that was the biggest problem for us was the room - the hair dryer in our room did not work (we managed to replace it after 24 hours, but unfortunately with a still non-working one), we also had a problem with detergents - there was no shower gel in the room - none of the detergents were also refilled

I booked a vacation to this resort through Cheap Caribbean And I will never do that again. American Airlines lost my luggage and the day that I arrived at the resort they couldn’t find my reservation in the system

Bars everywhere most of them open 24/7 and snacks bar in the beach. Everywhere has beach seat and beds to dry your body out

Food is amazing different taste of every country, free restaurants with reservations, china food, Italia and seafood. Security guards everywhere as well cameras. Comfortable rooms with fridges rechargeable

My first time and has been a fantastic time food is great at all restaurants, pools are clean and refreshing especially the swim bar. The entertainment is awesome with shows and games during the day

This was an amazing resort! The entertainment team was spectacular. Michel Alfredo Luis and Liz were so fun and had so many great activities for us including water sports in the ocean like kayaking

This place is a must stay for this area. It is small, gorgeous, and the customer service is top notch with some of the kindest people you could hope to find. You cannot beat the rooftop pool and beach area

We went to several resorts in the Dominican and went to every Spa to get a couple massage BUT Bagua Spa is the BEST we ever experienced- well done to the ladies !!! We look forward to come back and stay longer

From the minute we walked in, to the minute we departed So much detail in the architecture the scenery and the entire staff was 💯 on point. The service was beyond amazing. They accommodate our every needs

We stayed in the Junior Suite Lanai with Ocean Front and our room was cleaned and smelled so good there was even a fruit basket to welcome us and the view from our room was stunning

Food and drinks are reasonably well prepared considering it's on a colossal scale. All the staff were well trained and very pleasant to interact with. Their beach is a little skimpy. Take the sales tour at your own risk

We come here every year. It's beautiful and the Dominican people are so happy and friendly. We love it here. We own our villa and are looking to rent it out for people looking for a great vacation getaway.

When we showered, all we got was cold water. Again when we went to the front desk and reminded them we had upgraded to VIP (extra $) we got the hot water turned on immediately

They make frequent stops to refresh your rum drink before heading back to the sales office

Located where you can get access to all the town around within an hour. The service from the staff is great they are attentive. I didn't spend a lot of time at the resort

However from what I see a family can stay on the resort and have many activities to be a part of. And they do off inclusive and non inclusive stays
