Reviews
Comparing with Resort packages sold by Costco travel, this resort in 3/5.
All other reviews are in line with my observations too.
It's old resort. It is maintained well but needs renovation.
Pros: It's still Caribbean experience, very beautiful beach, few free activities that are not free in resort normally, excellent staff who is doing their best to attend to your need. Restaurants are above average.
Lot of activities- you just need to book it in advance and ask for it.
Cons: Average food and subpar drink, limited food options, small pool, their obsession above beach towels inventory, small resort, smaller rooms.
if you are vegetarian like me, Food options can be limited but no different from other resorts. Loved fruits but go early for better quality. Try Italian restaurant, it's good.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable! The bed and bedding was above average quality for a resort, in my experience. The cleaning team kept everything refreshed.
The food at the buffet was plentiful and very good overall! We tried two of the specialty restaurants and they were alright!
The beach and pools were both beautiful. My only critique is that there are not enough umbrellas and/or shady areas by the pools. You have to get up very early if you want to reserve chairs with an umbrella. Otherwise you’re baking all day.
The staff were all very lovely and helpful. The nightly entertainment was okay, I’ve seen much better shows at other resorts (though not in the DR, so can’t really compare).
I would definitely return to this resort and recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable beach vacation!
