Rooms have some maintenance issues including non working phones, refrigerators, sliding glass door locks that were broken, inconsistent room ac temperature controls and poor shower drainage issues.
Plentiful beach side and pool side lounge chairs and activities available.
Wonderful theater troupe and shows.
The staff is very pleasant and friendly but doesn't always follow through with requests.
Security is premium as the beach and main entrance are guarded at all times.
Do not fall for the Star Premium membership offer. Very expensive for not much additional value. Ninety minutes lost for $110 amenities credit. We will return.
Food from the buffet is 10/10, even better than the restaurants; good quality and variety.
Drinks are ok for the price of the resort, there’s local rum and a wide variety of other alcohol brands you can choose from but if you want the best of the best, gotta pay extra for it (which is expected). I found that the lobby’s bar is the best!
The club is VERY fun, 11pm-2am of partying and dancing with the bar just a few steps from the dance floor.
Everything is close by, no matter what building you’re staying in; there’s no elevator so make sure to ask for a room on the ground or first floor if you’re not a stairs person.
This would’ve been a 5-star review but the pool was dirty in most places. On the 4 days I stayed there, the water wasn’t clear, lot of debris (including hair, dust, bird excrement, yellow bubbles, among others). Unpleasant experience as I had to be pushing everything out of the way when getting a drink. Maybe the filters weren’t working but it’s a no-no for me.
Make sure to download the app, you can make reservations there and get notified when your room is clean or other things you could’ve asked for. Overall, staff is very friendly. Would recommend!
Honestly one of the worst resort experiences I’ve ever had. We got there early, but still had to wait over an hour past check-in to get our room. When we finally got access, we realized we were on the old side of the resort that’s under construction. We didn’t even mind that but the shower was full of mold and the room looked like it hadn’t been wiped down in weeks.
We complained and got moved to another room, but that one was somehow worse. The power cut out, there were roaches in the bathroom, ants crawling on the floor, and stains on both beds. Housekeeping didn’t clean our room once the entire stay. Every morning we’d walk out and greet them to be ignored and see them hanging around in groups chatting.
There was a clear colorist energy going on, me and my group don’t speak fluent Spanish but we tried our best, and we were still ignored and brushed off. Meanwhile, lighter-skinned guests who also didn’t speak Spanish got full service and smiles. The difference was obvious.
Only reason this place isn’t getting a 0/10 is because of the food and the two bartenders who actually treated us like people. Outside of that, everything else was just embarrassing. We still made the most of our trip off the resort, but this place? Definitely not going back.
