Best Hotels in Puerto Plata

There were some small negatives but in general impression is excellent 👌. The rooms need a little bit of renovation but they were very clean and well maintained

The food was delicious and diversified, especially the fruits. Mine favorite was melon water 🍉. The beach was good not excellent, but good. The stuff was gently and discreet, ever in position

For the price we paid, it’s decent. It’s a good place for an average vacation with a great beach! The beach was very good with lots of high waves! Rooms, outdoor areas, and landscapes are kept clean and looking good

Just an advice: if you want to buy rum do it from airport duty-free. So Playa Batchata resort is good value price- quality

The Lady cleaning staff was always working and cleaning in the bathrooms. The food was good and great selection

Very nice atmosphere, good customer service. The only complaint I have is the food there wasn’t a lot of options. I wish there was more authentic Dominican food but overall it was a nice place

Entertainment was new everyday even the outside games were different lot of nice people

Overall it was great, but at some point the AC in my room did break

The beach was well kept, the pool was cleaned every other night I believe, and if anything I'd say food was okay, nothing fancy and not really super my taste, but in general a good place to spend a week or so

Asides from the the service from everyone was impeccable our roomkeeper Maritza was phenomenal and very attentive to us!! Gracias Maritza! Do not buy your souvenirs at the hotel i bought 6 bracelets that totaled to 2500 DOP which is equivalent to around 40 bucks

Best days to go are on weekdays, once Friday arrives is like a circus. But our overall experience was good

The resort is a pretty quick ride from the airport which was nice. The staff and service we received was excellent and very friendly. The nightly shows are well produced and were a lot of fun to go watch

They have theme restaurants for which you don’t need a reservation which is nice. There’s only one big pool and a smaller one. the setup of this resort is not conducive to visiting the beach

Gastronomy service - always smiling, I would even say the best! Unfortunately, the reception staff are not very nice or helpful. The rooms are poorly equipped and the air conditioning leaks water onto the tiled floor

Staff is super friendly! Keep in mind that when there is more visitors the ac lowers and does not work as strong as it use to! Apart from that everything else was amazing!

Pros: It's still Caribbean experience, very beautiful beach, few free activities that are not free in resort normally, excellent staff who is doing their best to attend to your need. Restaurants are above average

The customer service was above and beyond from all the staff, from the breakfast, lunch, dinner, bar, cleaning, they were all brilliant, absolutely amazing! I can't say how beautiful they made our holiday, they strive to help every day, they are all so friendly and welcoming and they all go over and beyond to make your stay that extra bit more magical

Great HIIT gym class with Bryan. It's nice to have gym classes offered on vacation. The food selection and quality are also great. The staff is friendly and helpful

We absolutely loved our stay! Service was impeccable and the best I’ve ever seen! Ony, Lizbeth, Antonio, Richard, and the beach bartender were phenomenal! Housekeeping did an amazing job, and the resort team fully felt like family! We miss them all already! Special love to Stephanie!

You can always find delicious food to eat at anytime, the breakfast is delicious, dinner offers many options, Japanese, Italian and Spanish foods. Can’t wait to return to this family oriented resort

We had a great time here! Ok, admittedly the sales pitch was annoying. But after those 90 minutes, we had great service, good food, so much fun on the beach and pools!

We chose this location out of several other locations for our honeymoon; you’d think that would matter, but it doesn’t if you’re not a member, haha! Don’t get me wrong – I can appreciate the exclusivity of a membership and the perks it would bring, but to make 75% of the entire resort ‘members-only’ is ridiculous, especially because it’s not even clear when you book, and this resort isn’t cheap for...

Again, I have mixed feelings because we made the most of our honeymoon and enjoyed most of the facilities we were allowed to use, but there is a fine line between blatant, nonsensical exclusion and exclusivity

They trick you into the sales tour by offering to pick you up for breakfast. Next thing you know, you’re at the resort headquarter office

I encourage this resort to find that line. Other notes – the water was cold, and they did nothing about it even though we asked a lot

They were sad they didn’t give us anything special for our honeymoon, as they normally do, so they gave us a bottle of wine 😊

Checked in to The Grand Paradise on Saturday and I absolutely love it here. It is beyond beautiful and the service at Cooee is amazing. Everyone here really goes the extra mile to make you happy, I never want leave.

Great part of the hotel. Nice employee and great atmosphere. Calm and relaxing holiday you will have for sure. And if you like business and entertainment you walk 2 min to the other pool and you can enjoy that

Can recommend the upgrade to cooee as it gives your stay besides an exclusive touch, access to vip area, a frequently changing snack bar as well as table service

We had a very enjoyable week long vacation at the resort. We had a swimout room in Building #19, that we quite enjoyed. Nice to have a quieter space to relax and enjoy. The service and food were good

I stayed at Emotions with a group of six. We enjoyed our stay, the personal were greatly attentive, the food was very good, and the rooms were nice a cool

On the other end there are a few things that lowered my experience. First the hotel was a bit outdated, the rooms need to be up to date, the bathroom doors were loose, the towels were old and a bit raggedy

The views along the course can't be beat. Beautiful to play along side of the Caribbean Sea

On another note when we arrived the shampoo and conditioner in the showers were low, also outside the sun was very strong I feel like they should’ve had more trees or bigger umbrellas to provide shade

Could use some maintenance and fumigation. The rooms are filled with ants, and there are holes in the walls made by diffrent animals. The surrounding landscape is beautiful, and maintained well

The staff are friendly , and approachable. Everything is all inclusive, which is a plus. But the drinks tend to be watered down a bit, and cheap alcohol is used

Large welcoming compound a short way down a dirt road. Has excellent food, a little river to take a dip, many activities organized here. Public transport at the main road. Suitable for large families or solo travelers

The facilities are excellent she has upgraded the rooms and the there is hot water and excellent Wi-Fi and food if you want it. It's a comfortable place to stay for a long time or a couple of days

The good parts were the price (although after staying, I wish the price were lower), the view, and (for us) the convenience of being in Munoz

SubcampDR is a wonderful place to experience the real Dominican Republic. The staff is wonderful mainly the owner/manager Diane Pellerin. She's committed to making every person feel welcome and a part of the family
