Playabachata Spa Resort

DO NOT GO HERE. The staff are rude and less than caring. We stayed in room 1275, the room from hell. As we opened the door the room was dirty. Hair and dirt on the floors and bed. I asked for a tumbler for the safe and was told they didn't have any so we were unable to lock up are personal belongings. The fridge leaks some kind of slime inside and both water and pop bottles were always slippery and gross. I tried to clean the inside myself and even told the guy who restocked the fridge. His answer was its OK smiled and left. Black mold seeping through the air conditioning vent to the point we were unable to use the air. Both my wife and I have been sick with respiratory issues from day two of our stay. We were forced to leave our balcony door open at night to sleep. And the staff parking lot was right outside our door. Loud motorcycles and scooters, cars as well as the disrespectful staff that talk very loud and Rev their engine's at all hours of the night like it a joke. I believe that staff were from the Senator resort. The gross stench from the lagoon was very over powering. We had money stolen from our locked suitcase, my mistake anyone can pop a zipper. Thank goodness we were in are room sick on day 4 of of are 7 day vacation because at 10 pm three men from the resort let them selfsame into are room. Shocked to find us there handed me a towel and left very quickly. The food seemed like it was recycled over and over. Watching men that cook your food put their hands into the garbage bag, trying to pack it down and then without washing or even wiping their hands just go back to handling raw food they were preparing for the guests. Not one meal was hot or even warm as it took several minutes to find a table to eat at then the waiting game began for a server to even notice you so they could bring you a fork and knife. We were unable to book anything other than the Italian a la Carte as the rest were always full only to find out 50 US dollars (tip) found a table. PLEASE SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY TAKE YOUR FAMILY AND LOVED ONES ANYWHERE BUT HERE.

This is by far the worst resort I have ever stayed at. It has been rundown to the ground and really they should just knock it all down and build another one. To start with the rooms are extremely outdated, furniture is broken and dented - one of our friends Had termites in her room ! Service is Nonexistent, employees are straight up rude to guests and get angry if you ask for anything. I got yelled at twice by employees, one was angry because I asked for four slices of pizza for my family. I felt extremely uncomfortable asking anyone for anything. They also don’t have pool towels for everyone and will straight up tell you that they don’t know when they will have towels for you. Also, for your bedroom, you’re only allowed to have the number of your party staying in the room. We asked for an extra towel and were told no. They also take your towels in the morning and then will give you fresh towels at the end of the night, which makes no sense because you need to shower. The pools were extremely disgusting and dirty. Honestly, even the guests are rude, I got a pair of flip-flops, a cover-up and a beach towel stolen. In addition, they have some shops next door where they sell stolen/used things, which is so wrong ! The food was inedible, employees were extremely unsanitary, and would touch your food as they were serving you. Employees look so miserable and make it very clear that they do not want to be there and help you with anything .The plates were impossible to find, same as silverware and cups, which is ridiculous that’s basic for a hotel operation. When you found plates, they were all kinds of different plates, and they were all chipped or cracked. I feel like they just dump everything from different resorts into this one to be repurposed, including the food. Every meal was so hectic and a straight up nightmare. I honestly cannot believe this place is still in business, it is dirty, Employees are rude and is so bitten down that it’s unsafe. I found many nails just sticking out from the ground. Please consider any other place to stay at!

beach and ocean- first class. resort- not so much. no towels in rooms all day , bugs, 2 beds pushed together, no hot water, no water pressure, one beach towel for the whole week. italian restaurant had bugs falling in our food. 'steak' supper was a thin minute steak. no glasses at beverage centers. very loud intrusive pool music all afternoon. pics on website for the resort next door. no contingency plans for rain. entertainment was same dancers/music with diff costumes every night.

20$ to leave country. big money grab.
city was filthy, full of garbage.

excursions were good but expensive.

Stay at this place was disappointing. We arrived tired after 11h long flight to a room that was dirty - sheets were not changed after previous guests, pillows were dirty with someone’s hair and stains, towels were also dirty, there was no warm water, the curtains looked like they were never washed and furniture had a layer of dust. The reception tried to help but we still didn’t feel comfortable, even in the room they gave us instead. The comfort level was low. We didn’t expect any luxury but cleanliness is really important.
