Don't believe the touts who are trying to persuade you to go on a tour - they will not tell you the truth, they told us to go for 45 minutes, we traveled for 2.5 hours on a bus. We were brought to, as the tour agent put it - a banana plantation, but it turned out to be an old, unkempt, dirty garden of palms and other trees. Then we were brought to the beach, it turned out to be a public dirty beach. Then we were transported to the next beach - to eat (it was not for nothing that they poured free rum on the bus, apparently in order to dull our indignation) the unsanitary conditions are terrible. As a result, two people threw up before reaching the bus, and my friends and I have had stomach pains for the second day. The only thing - the cherry on the cake - was the blue lagoon - it is The good place to visit.
This trip you can buy in the resort for US 150 dollars but the same trip you can find buying with the guy in the beach for $70. In our bus with people who pay $150 and we pay only 70 per person. So we were glad that we didn’t spend so much money, but anyway is better to stay in the resort than to go on the trip from Puerto Plata. The trip that we did in Punta Cana and in La Romana were fabulous.
By the way, the rooms are clean, but there is no even one chair to put your clothes wet clothes in so we have to ask in the reception to bring at least one chair in the room and there is no balcony for balcony. They told us to pay $25 extra per day. There is no entertainment during the day as we have like in Punta Cana in La Romana or even in Cuba.
But the ocean is beautiful and the beach is nice and cosy and the food is good.

i had such a great experience staying at viva heavens this july. this is more of a family friendly resort. it has a great view from the beach & clean. lots of day and night entertainment. extremely sweet, friendly & accommodating staff. especially the bartenders & the viva vibe boys! food was great & filling especially as me being a vegetarian. drinks were always appreciated & well made. the resort is so relaxing yet also has a lot to do. it is very safe with very helpful & caring people. rooms were always clean, very spacious with everything you need! overall i had such a fun experience visiting for my first time and i would 100% come again!

I booked a vacation to this resort through Cheap Caribbean And I will never do that again. American Airlines lost my luggage and the day that I arrived at the resort they couldn’t find my reservation in the system. The cleaning crew did not clean the rooms very well and did not change the bedsheets. The food was disgusting. Thank you to Benedicta (Reception), Marie and Elisa (Guest Services) for their excellent service.

I went here for my honeymoon, my wife chose this hotel. She saw it on the Viva site. Now, they lied about being ADULT ONLY, no room service, and elevator as was said to have. The room was okay, mini fridge wasn't cold, if you like cold drinks and something was in one of the beds, biting my wife.
They don't believe in AC, in lobby, store or buffet cafeteria. There isn't 7 restaurants as said on the site, it's 4 and they are reservation only and only open one a night. Food is mid to bad... not a good meat selection. Kids, baby crying so freaking loud while we were eating dinner and one kid was far from her parents and in the way of the entrance. Wifi is very weak and dropped often. Now, I saved the worst for last, they have about 10-15 feral cats all over the property and always in the way, WHY!!? Because people bring food out to them and feed them from their table at the restaurant Rosemarino's on the beach. Nasty cats all in your face, under your chair and table. It was gross, wild animals taking over and not taking care of. The staff was great though, very attentive. My suggestion, is to stay at the Tangerine or the other two higher end hotels. Tangerine has better tasting food and selection. Heaven is considered Viva La Ghetto, by the staff at the Tangerine. Stay away, you have been warned. This was my honeymoon, my wife felt bad about picking here, we came on Monday and was ready to go back Wednesday. She says we need a do over, but there's can't be another first time. Stay away...FACTS

From a European perspective, this is not the best place to spend an All Inclusive holiday. It can be compared to the level of facilities in Bulgaria. The drinks are a plus. The food is not as terrible as others describe it - there are individual dishes that are really good - for example, pizza from a wood-fired oven, freshly made donuts or omelettes. We also had no problem with the hotel organising a transfer to the STI airport in the middle of the night. Something that was the biggest problem for us was the room - the hair dryer in our room did not work (we managed to replace it after 24 hours, but unfortunately with a still non-working one), we also had a problem with detergents - there was no shower gel in the room - none of the detergents were also refilled. The quality of the WiFi is very low. On the hotel beach someone is constantly bothering you - offering everything - from jewellery to braids or foot massages.

Typical all-inclusive resort that checks most boxes on what you would expect. The property isn't too big, and there's a path that leads you on a 5 min walk to the beach. The check-in process takes way too long, even when it's done online beforehand. The lobby has a glass roof and no fans, so it can get uncomfortably hot if you're waiting around. The buffet food is average at best, but they have several small restaurants that offer higher quality options at no additional cost. The pool is nothing special and the entertainment is subpar. However, the staff is extremely attentive and friendly. I would consider visiting again for the right price.

Small resort with decent rooms, various restaurants and friendly service. You shouldn't expect any special luxury for this price.
To be clear, the days of unlimited consumption for a flat rate are also over in the Dominican Republic. The big hotel groups are pulling out and the smaller resorts have to fill their capacity with local weekend guests and day visitors from the cruise ships.
The people who work in the hotels receive modest salaries because they have to calculate with tips. And now guess why guests complain in the reviews that they only got plastic cups or drinks that were too soft? - If you behave in a fair and friendly manner, you will receive good service. We have noticed that there is a third wristband for German guests, which is below the black one for Premium and above the standard one for the others. That explains a lot.

Just getting back from the resort after staying for a week. Overall, my husband and I really loved this resort and would come back again in the future.

The resort is very small the pool, cafeteria and bar is located next to the hotel rooms. Which in a nice proximity, although it is a bit of a walk to get to the beach. We enjoyed the walk as it was located next to a pond with wildlife to enjoy. That said, I would not recommend this resort for people with mobility problems looking to be at the beach.

The beach itself is very nice, the beach was clean for the first few days that we were there and spent a lot of time on the beach, however, the beach was full of seaweed and garbage drifting in from the ocean after a few days.

The food was 50/50, my husband and I found that either the food was passable, or it was very delicious - there was no in between.

Unlike most resorts, the bar did not fill your own cups of liquor (they would allow it for beer however). Water was also pretty limited, but the restaurants and cafeteria did provide a good amount.

The service is very great, the staff were very nice and always happy to help.

One minor complaint is that since the hotel rooms are next to the pool, you could hear the music in your room until 10pm. It felt like we had no escape from noise if we wanted some quiet.

Our trip is finally ending. I wish I was home days ago. The good is mediocre, and after a few days you feel nauseous trying to swallow it down. The resort is small and therefore nowhere to go to get away from the constant pumping music. Drinks are always served in small plastic glasses so you order three a time. We saw a massive cockroach running across the dining floor at the beach, the cats ran after that. Skinny cats, we tried to feed them. I would bring cat food if I ever returned. Our room was on the third floor, bring in my sixth month of pregnancy climbing stairs multiple times a day was tiring with the humidity. The toilet in our room always seemed to hesitate to flush and twice needed plunged. The first time they told us no paper. That was awkward as the maid goes through the garbage for recycling. The second time it appeared to be backup from another room. The maid didn’t bother coming the day between left. So no water as she gives you three bottles a day. The hotel is in need of some touch ups.

Just returned from 5 days at Viva Heavens. Overall, we had a great time and the resort was wonderful!! It is small but does not feel crowded. The food was good - especially breakfast, the buffet at the beach and the a la cart menus were excellent. Rooms were clean and simple. Staff were amazing, so friendly and accommodating. Loved the path between the resort and the beach, a little piece of nature and very peaceful. Just a couple of things that could have been better - it was difficult to make a la cart reservations, especially for the night we arrived. Also, all restaurants are not open every night so we were only able to try 2 of them. My biggest criticism is the sales pitch for the Viva membership. We felt very pressured to sit through this talk and had to end it assertively, as I felt that my time was being monopolized and all I really wanted was to be on the beach. I would still return to Viva Heavens in the future, despite this.
