HCC St. Moritz in Barcelona

A good hotel in a great location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the room was extremely hot, because the AC was turned off in the "winter season" of mid-April.

Breakfast was pretty basic but good. Fruit slices weren't prepared for the last two mornings of our stay (maybe due to easter holidays of staff?).

Very convenient location. Room size is very decent in the area and the price is reasonable in my opinion. Really value for money and highly recommended for travellers wanting to stay close to the key tourist attractions in Barcelona.

Overall not a bad experience! But there are some things we wish turned out better, hence only 4 stars.

The biggest advantage of this hotel is definitely the location since most places of interest are a 20-40 minute walk away and accessible by metro. Thanks to the location, we were able to see most of Barcelona on foot. The room itself was also a nice size with great amenities (bath products, towels, robes, shower cap, iron and ironing board, safe, slippers). We also appreciated the breakfast buffet for its variety and it tasted delicious. Special thanks to Dave (i think?) at the front desk for helping us check in and hold our luggage!

For the things to improve on, here are a few.
We did have to open the windows a couple nights because the air-conditioning (or fan?) vent at its highest setting did not make the room cold or ventilate it well enough.

In the middle of our 7 night stay, we requested the room to be made up once by hanging the door sign and left at around 9am. We returned around 4:30pm to see that our sign was still there and the room had not been made up. We went down to front desk to kindly request our room be made up and that we would leave (again) to allow for this. We asked if our room was forgotten and the response was that the last daily room cleaning was at 6pm and that we should just wait a little bit longer. We were definitely a bit confused as we have stayed in plenty of hotels where the standard was that room cleanings were usually completed in the first half of the day. Moreover, in the days before and after we requested the room to be made up, we always saw the cleaning/ supplies cart and rooms on our floor being serviced anywhere between 8am-10am when we would leave our room to start the day.

In the end, we still enjoyed our time and would definitely consider staying here again since we have a lot more things that we appreciated compared to what we didn’t. Again, the location is perfect!

Actually stayed here 6 nights in 2023 so a bit of a delayed review but I had a great stay. Purchased my reservation and breakfasts online. Had no issues with check in and found the staff very friendly. Chose the hotel for the location more than anything else and couldn’t have been more happy with it. So easy to get everywhere. Either walked or rode the metro and this hotel was central to everything I wanted to do. As usual when I travel I am out trying to see everything so I mostly need a place to crash for the night and had no complaints about this hotel.

The location is great and the breakfast is fine. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The pillows are definitely not great.
The smell in the rooms and hallways is a bit funny.
The strangest thing: you need to ask at the bar for a kettle for the tea and pay almost 7 euros for 4 tea bags (nothing fancy) to prepare in your room.
This is a 3 star hotel at best...

The location is good. It convenient and surrounded by many food outlets and shopping. But the hotel facilities are quite bad. The air conditioning was leaking and there was water dripping the whole night. I need to call a few times the front desk to get it fixed. It was only fixed after two days. The breakfast was good with a wide range of spread. The front desk was friendly though. On an overall basis, still a good experience.

The hotel is in a great location, the rooms are spacious and the front desk staff are very friendly.

The subway was close by and it was easy to access. I entered from a main street, but I didn't feel unsafe. There are many 24-hour supermarkets and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel's Wi-Fi was good. The room was spacious, well-equipped, and clean. There were many outlets, and the shower had good water pressure, so hot water came out quickly. However, there seemed to be few amenities. The hair dryer could not be used continuously, and it stopped when it got too hot.

The hotel is in a good location. It's also very convenient to get out of the airport. Just because I only stayed for one night, I didn’t experience it too seriously. It was very late when we arrived, and the overall feeling was quite satisfactory, not amazing.
