Mercer Hotel Barcelona

My daughter and I recently stayed at the Mercer Hotel and we give it our highest recommendation. It's a beautiful, luxury hotel in the prime location of the Gothic district, nestled in amazing architecture, and literally just steps away from restaurants, sites, and shopping. The hotel is a mix of old world and modern elegance and the rooms are spacious and well appointed. Even though it's in the heart of a busy district, it still feels tucked away and private. The staff is amazing -- extremely friendly, helpful and professional. They made our stay so special and we can't wait to go back!

The Mercer is a quiet and lovely hotel in a great location. The staff are warm and responsive and made us feel incredibly welcome. We’re looking forward to staying there again the next time we’re in Barcelona.

Beautiful service, delicious food. Pool is a bit nasty due to pigeon poop and feathers everywhere, and no gym, but service really does make up for it. Little touches and niceties abound. Wonderful fluffy towels, little biscuit trays, fantastic cocktails at the bar.

Very nice hotel, with great service in an excellent location in the Gothic Quarter. The only item I will note is the room we stayed in was quite small will a view of a black tarp. Only one light on the ceiling in the entire room and not a full wall separating the bathroom from the sleeping area. The rooftop pool area was very nice and quiet. Overall, very nice hotel.

This is an old Roman tower restored perfectly and turned into a hotel. Incredible location, you can walk everywhere. The rooftop is lovely and quiet and the pool is a nice treat on a hot day. Service is excellent and the restaurant and bar are very nice.

This is a lovely hotel. I love 5 star boutique hotels because of the personalized touches and exceptional service and Mercer in Barcelona certainly delivered. Location is perfect as well. They have a welcome and departing gift. Rooms are decent size and enough if you’re not spending too much time in the room. Hotel has historic parts throughout which is super cool and the terrace is lovely. They even made recommendations for tapas when we got in late the first night and it was one of our favorites of the whole stay. Thank you Mercer and I highly recommend this hotel!

Great vibe, great food (breakfast is a must, room service was amazing too), & great service.

We visited with our 17 month baby, and the staff was so thoughtful to set up the crib for him in the room and care for his needs during breakfast, like brining out extra fruit bowl, utensils, juice, and straw.

Mini fridge was stocked with the essentials (free of charge) and got restocked everyday. Great location - lots of food options and cute stores in walking distance. Staying at Mercer was a great way to start our first visit to Spain!

Our flight was cancelled so we had a bonus day in Barcelona and decided to try the Mercer after passing by it several times during our stay. We were impressed! Our room was spacious and quiet with a lovely if limited view. The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The location is hard to beat in the middle of the Gothic Quarter -- walking distance to everything including the subway if you are wanting to go further afield. We ate dinner in the hotel's tapas restaurant and enjoyed it! We had a Junior Suite with a king-size bed and a single bed for our 16-year old daughter. She did say that the single bed was not comfortable, but the king was fine. We would stay here again!

I can’t say enough good things about the Mercer. Starting with the very basics, the service is impeccable. Every single staff member is both incredibly kind and attentive. Next, the room was gorgeous, spacious, and the bed was so comfortable I did not want to get out of it. I think it is so important to mention when there is an excellent housekeeping service - they go above and beyond in morning and evening services.
My stay in Barcelona would not have been nearly as wonderful if not for Mercer and particularly the concierge! From recommendations to bookings they made my trip so effortless. Special shoutout to Dani! The restaurants and tours he suggested were amazing. Also, both of the hotel restaurants probably serve some of the best food you can find in Barcelona. I would’ve eaten at either every night if I could have, make sure you make reservations when you arrive! A shoutout for Ago at the restaurant breakfast - she is lovely.
A true luxury hotel, Mercer is the only place I would stay in Barcelona in the future. I felt so taken care of, the entire staff made me feel right at home. I can’t wait to stay here on my next visit!

This is a truely magical place! Me and my boyfriend spent our very first holiday at Mercer and immediately fell in love with this place (and with each other)!
When we came back after one year Miriam welcomed us in a very lovely way; she is the best!
