Hotel Carlton

Really beautiful hotel in a wonderful location. The staff were beyond lovely and breakfast was exceptional. Would definitely recommend staying here when visiting Bilbao. Very short walk to The Guggenheim Museum.

We enjoyed the location, the food quality, the breakfast, the service overall.
Things to improve:
- update hair dryer in the bathroom, it’s old
- add a heating option to the air conditioner, because at night it can be quite cold (e.g. at the end of August)

Iconic hotel on the main circle of Bilbao, minutes walk from Guggenheim, plus just tons of food and bar options. Spacious rooms, large bathrooms, overall pleasant environs. But the staff is what makes this hotel Excellent…from the valet to the front desk to everyone encountered, friendly, helpful, and very professional!
If you have a car, pull onto the front sidewalk by the front door and let valet take care of the rest!

Nice rooms, decent sound proofing, large bathroom with excellent water temperature and good water pressure. Comfortable mattress, and pillow room service is offered to get you the style you prefer if you don’t like the ones in the room. Very good staff, especially the bellhops and bar staff. Had to get new keys twice before one clerk warned to keep the hey card far away from a smart phone, or they get messed up. Seems like something they’d tell you upfront, but still a very good stay. The location couldn’t be beat!

Excellent hotel perfect location for shops restaurants Old town and Guggenheim. Metro station at front door. Taxi rank at the side. Airport bus stops outside. Staff really professional and friendly. Could not recommend it more highly as a place to stay in Bilbao

The quality is top notch. The associates could not be more helpful or caring. Excellent location. Walking distance to The Guggenheim and five star restaurants. Loved the linens, complementary drinks in the mini bar. I would book this hotel if ever in Bilbao again.

First I really recommend. Close to the metro and other public transport , close to the shopping malls, close to Guggenheim and other museums and to Old town.
Service and comfort, I was a little bit disappointed. It was freezing cold and there haven't been any cosy sheet/duvet in the room, only a thin one. I got a thick by asking, but it was not stored. I also did not like to have cleaning each day, so they threatened me with a sheet that after the second day somebody has to come. I stood there longer, but I did not expect such an unpleasant note under the door.
Once I tried breakfast and no fresh prepared eggs, no extra knives and forks have been there - a wonderful nice room and high quality products but nothing which makes you surprised, the waitress also took everything when I fetch tea, although my bag was there hanging at the chair.
And finally I was scared there. Traveling alone makes you aware about the noise which surrounds you. It is an old building, and I had the calmest room there, 6th floor, last room (thank you, I really appreciate it). You can hear there everything, even you have 2 floors to the aisle. When your neighbor is taking a shower and when people are passing outside. And I had the feeling somebody was opening the door often during the night. But this was only a draft.
So totally it was a wonderful stay there, but if nobody is asking you how was your stay and did you enjoy it and can we do anything for you when you leave, the evaluation is suffering a little bit. So enjoy your stay there!

We had a very comfortable stay. Best sleep in 3 weeks in Europe! Enormous and quiet rooms, comfy beds and a gorgeous building inside and out. Staff were not overly friendly but efficient. Only downside was the cleaners came in even though the 'do not disturb' sign was out - super annoying when in the middle of changing clothes. Complimentary minibar was a plus. Gym was a great addition and very clean, with a sauna and change rooms. Highly recommend.

I did few days in the Carlton hotel and the experience was good!
The service was nice and but not only the rooms were big and comfortable!

Location is great, it is located in the center.
Walking distance to the “river”.
