The room we booked is not as good as the room we redeemed with points.
The location of the hotel is OK, of course, because the old town of Valencia is very large, you can basically walk to the main attractions in 15 minutes. It is very close to the North Railway Station, but it is not actually useful because the commonly used stations are far away and definitely cannot be walked.
The hotel service is average, parking is not allowed at the door of the hotel, watching the old man pushing the box by himself, the waiter acted as if he didn't see it, until the road was uneven and the old man fell. I probably won't stay at this hotel after getting off the bus
Upon arrival, we were given a two-bed room. My partner and I went with them. I realized I had made a mistake when making the reservation. We called reception and they upgraded us to a city view room for free. The rooms are beautiful and the staff is very friendly.
I had a booking and long story short, they had a problem with their rooms and didn’t feel like calling me ahead to tell me, so when I arrived from the airport at 9pm, I had no room, all the other hotels in the area were already fully booked, and they sent me to a cheap crappy hotel of their group at the other side of town instead.
I told them I’d have dinner whilst they would look for another solution like a similar standing hotel in the area instead. They barely tried to find another solution. They didn’t offer to pay for my dinner, they didn’t offer to refund me for the difference in prices between the rooms, nor for the taxi there, and so on.
Problems can happen in hotels and I understand, but usually the staff feels sorry for it and try to make it up to customers. In this case they couldn’t care less. A shameful service.
Btw I wasn’t the only one. Just overheard in the hotel bar that they did this to other customers too so it’s a common practice for them
