Le Mathurin Hotel & Spa

My son and I visited Paris after an amazing few days in London at a fantastic hotel. Arriving at this hotel was definitely a letdown. The room and bathroom were so tiny. There was barely room to move around especially with no place to really put any luggage. The bed was very small as well. The room was hot even with the thermostat turned down and we had to sleep without covers most of the time. The bed was also kind of hard and was smaller than we thought it would be. We had a pretty cool terrace but not much of a view. In the bathroom, you have to take a very large step to get in and out of the tub and it was very slippery. I was definitely concerned we might fall at some point but thankfully we did not. The hotel provides regular size towels for the bathroom but no wash cloths. There are no other amenities in the room, not even a bottle of water (just a costly mini bar in the closet). The lobby is also very small with only one entrance/exit. We had quite a few rude people from the pub next door who blocked the doorway multiple times and seemed offended we would dare excuse ourselves so we could enter or exit. The elevators are also extremely small and a little creepy. One was even smaller than the other, fitting 2 people at max. There was a lot of noise coming from outside as well as within the hotel, including slamming doors and some sort of construction noise. The staff were nice enough but not overly helpful. I needed a plug adapter and they originally said they didn't have any. Once I told them I was trying to plug in a fan to cool us down some and drown out the noise in the room, they eventually came up with one. Interestingly enough, I noticed a cabinet near the lobby with several of them for sale the next morning. There are also no irons or ironing boards in the room. We had to ask for this each day and it took forever to get. The only pro is the location. It was fairly walkable to some great restaurants and tourist spots. I'd suggest looking at other nearby hotels before choosing this one.
