Art Gallery Hotel

Very basic room and hotel with no frills, but couldn't have been more pleased for what it was. Ended up being one of our favourite places we stayed while in Greece. Friendly staff, great neighbourhood and our terrace room had a certain kind of charm to it. If you are looking for a budget place to stay in a nice, quiet neighbourhood, I cannot recommend Art Gallery Hotel enough.

The Art Gallery hotel offers a cozy, family-owned atmosphere where guests are warmly welcomed, almost as if they were visiting relatives. During my three-night stay, I found the rooms to be adequately clean, comfortable, and spacious, albeit with some minor wear and tear on the room and bathroom amenities. For instance, I encountered an issue with the door lock, but the friendly reception staff promptly provided a workaround with a smile, suggesting a clever trick to operate it until it was fixed.

One of the hotel's standout features is undoubtedly its staff, who consistently go above and beyond to assist guests with a genuine kindness that enhances the overall experience. While the breakfast provided was basic, it served its purpose well enough to fuel explorations of Athens' ancient wonders, and it also conveniently provided a snack for later in the morning at nearby restaurants.

The hotel's location is another highlight, situated in a quiet area yet still within easy reach of key attractions like the Plaka and the Acropolis. Despite its proximity to tourist hotspots, the neighborhood maintains a peaceful ambiance, with plenty of excellent dining options and cafes nearby. Moreover, the reasonable pricing adds to the hotel's appeal, offering good value for money considering its prime location and attentive service.

In summary, the Art Gallery hotel provides a pleasant stay characterized by familial hospitality, comfortable accommodations, and a prime location that allows guests to enjoy the best of Athens without feeling overwhelmed by crowds.

The rooms aren’t anything special, but they have everything you need and more! The staff are the sweetest, coolest people!! So friendly and warm. I stayed here with my study abroad group multiple times over our 3 week trip since Art Gallery was considered our “home base.” By the end of the trip everyone in my group referred to this place as “home.” I even stayed an extra day and a half here with my boyfriend after my studying was done and he loves it just as much as I do!! Location is SUPERB, breakfast is delicious, but the staff make this place AMAZING! I highly recommend hanging out in the front desk area to get to know the staff and cool off in the AC. I’ll be back soon! ❤️

Small rooms but clean with good breakfast. Next time, i can stay again in Art Gallery Hotel ...

Every time I visit Athens,I stay here.All the staff are friendly and co-operative,offering every kind of assistance to the guests-above and beyond the "normal" for a hotel.I would never dream of staying anywhere else when visiting Athens.

The hotel has a fascinating history, its foundations having sheltered the current owners’ grandparents as a bunker in WWII before they made it first an art gallery and then, building upward, this hotel. Don’t expect spanking new state-of-the-art ANYTHING. Expect inimitable charm, cleanliness, authenticity, helpful staff, and an excellent location. We loved it.

This is my absolute favourite place to stay in Athens. It doesn’t need any flashy finishes, simple and great value. The rooms onto the street are really beautiful. The staff hav always been absolutely helpful and welcoming. I’m reluctantly saying this because I don’t want it to be booked out next time I’m there!

Very friendly and helpfull service. The hotel is not 5 star, but we enjoyed it very much. The shower cubicle is very small as I am a big man, but everything work, hot water was nice etc. We will definitely use the Art Gallery hotel again if we go that way. Walking distance to the Acropolis, and many excellent restaurants just over the street. Alex helped me to get a taxi early in the morning, and they arrived on time. 25 Euro to the port was a good price.

Nice accomodation with towels, sheets, shampoo, shower gel, etc. The location is wonderful, next to the Acropolis and a view on the Parthenon. The staff is super accomodating and kind. I highly recommend it.
