Acropolis Ami Boutique Hotel in Athens

This was my first time in Athens. I checked into the hotel at 8 PM, unpacked my suitcase, organized my clothes in the closet, and went out for dinner. I returned around 11 PM and went straight to sleep as I had to wake up early the next morning.
Around 2 AM, I woke up feeling tingling on my arm. When I turned on the light, I discovered that the bed was infested with bed bugs. At first I didn’t even understand what they were, as I had never encountered bed bugs before, I initially thought they were small cockroaches. I went down to reception, showed them the photos, and they apologized and changed my room.
Once I compared the photos and videos online, I realized with certainty that they were bed bugs. I then checked my open suitcase and clothes and found that one had already gotten inside my bag. At that point, I went back to reception to request a refund and leave the hotel, as this is a serious infestation issue. They refused. I asked to at least change rooms and leave my luggage aside so I could sleep safely, but they also refused.
Instead, they attempted to gaslight me by claiming they were not bed bugs, or that if they were, then I must have brought them into the hotel. By then it was 3 AM, I was exhausted, and I ended up spending the night in the reception area because I no longer felt safe sleeping in any room.
The next morning, I asked them to heat-treat or air-dry my clothes and bags at 50°C to avoid taking bed bugs home with me. They agreed but never actually did it. They refused a refund, refused compensation, and did nothing to resolve the situation. They also claimed they would clean all the rooms, but when I returned later, my room was exactly as I had left it, my clothes and bags still on the bathroom floor.
I travel internationally very often, and this is by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I had to wash all my clothes and bags myself in boiling water and spent the following nights feeling paranoid and unable to sleep properly.
Bed bugs are a serious issue and not something to dismiss. I have already filed an official complaint and I hope the hotel is properly inspected. For anyone considering staying here, be aware that I encountered a full bed bug infestation during my stay.

Probably one of my worst experiences ever… (and I often travel). First night there was a lot of noise on the stairway because of housekeeping… they were doing with plastic bags or so. So complained the other morning and fist the staff would not believe me. In the end they gave me “an upgraded room” that room was a bit better had a large terras (which I didn’t use) but the room was smaller. Anyway not less noise of housekeeping. But the walls are that thin… I could just follow normal conversations from my neighbors…. Not to mention when somebody goes to the toilet or takes a shower…. Breakfast is a poor experience too Believe the rooms of the hotel need to have a refreshment. To end with a positive note : Good WiFi, and good housekeeping
