Phaedra Hotel

Phaedra Hotel is absolutely fantastic. Excellent location, great value, clean rooms, friendly staff. There is literally nothing to complain about, which is why my family and I have been returning there year after year.

Please ignore that this hotel only has a formal 2* rating - this family run hotel gives a 5* experience. The location is literally 10 paces from the beach. The hotel is spotless with spa slippers, dressing gowns and pool towels. Nikos the Manger is a perfect host - we had a prompt personal response from him upon booking directly and got a much better rate than through 3rd parties! Nothing was too much trouble and he is always happy to have a chat with you. Georgia at the pool bar is one of the kindest, happiest people you could meet and also makes a fab frappe coffee - I hope to return - couldn't fault this hotel - they have lots of guests who return year after year which says it all ....

Hotel Phaedra in Kato Stalos, Crete is a true gem. The hotel is way better than most in the area. You will not regret staying here. The rooms are really nice and clean with free a/c and the pool area by the beach is absolutely amazing. Free sunbeds and free beach towels is something you don’t get in all other hotels. The owner Nicos is the friendliest an nicest guy you will find and he will make sure everything is perfect. Lady Georgia at the bar is the soul of the hotel and she makes delicious meals for breakfast and lunch. Always nice to talk to both Nikos and Georgia. I have now stayed in Phaedra four times and coming back again next year. Definately 10/10 ⭐️

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel.

The rooms are very clean and really well equipped. Our room had a beautiful sea view.

The pool area is beautiful and the pool itself has crystal clear water, with beautiful views to the beach beyond.

Nikos and Georgia were wonderful hosts and couldn't do enough for us. We had lots of family visit us at this hotel and Nikos was so accommodating about this.

We also were allowed to check out a bit later, which really made life easier.

Georgia was always happy and chatty, even when we were ordering 10 drinks at a time!

Thank you for such a lovely stay. We will definitely visit again when we return to the area.

This was our first trip to Crete and what a fantastic introduction it was! Phaedra Hotel is excellent: great location, relaxed atmosphere, very clean, and with friendly and helpful staff. Thanks especially to Georgia at the poolside bar who was always happy to make some delicious food or a lovely coffee. Also to Nikos, the owner, who was helpful and approachable for anything - nothing was too much trouble.

The hotel rooms are in the style of small apartments, with a kitchenette, full sized fridge/freezer, air conditioning and balcony. The pool is lovely, overlooking the beach.

Would highly recommend.

We had a good feeling about this place as all the reviews were excellent. We were blown away by its location, cleanliness, and especially the staff.
The hotel has a beautiful pool with a pool bar that is tended by the gorgeous Georgia, who will serve drinks , cocktails, and food from morning until early evening with great enthusiasm and always smiling.
You can step off the pool terrace straight onto a lovely sandy beach with free sunbeds, then a few more paces gets you in the sea, incredible.
The rooms are very clean and maid service was every day, there is air-conditioning, a fridge with freezer, small kitchenette and large bathroom. We had a balcony overlooking the pool and sea.
Nikos is the manager / owner. What a fantastic guy, so friendly and helpful, very proud of the great service he and his team provides. When he isn't there, the other Georgia steps up and is equally helpful.
Tip. Nikos uses a guy for taxi shuttles to and from the airport and for other trips etc. This guy is excellent, well turned out with his Mercedes, so always ask.

Small quiet family run hotel on the edge of the sand. Staff are all 7 star friendly happy and couldn’t be more helpful. Great bar by the pool for snacks and drinks. Pool and gardens well attended to. Rooms serviced everyday. Our room with a balcony was perfect - clean and bright with a small kitchen area great for making a morning cuppa or light snack with a full size fridge. Good shower. Comfy beds. A choice of sun beds by the pool or on the beach. This is a quiet hotel, the snack bar closed by 18.00 , no evening entertainment but that’s just what we wanted . Easy walk to lots of good restaurants in town . Nicos can arrange anything! Good recommendations organise taxis and always around for a chat and to get feedback. Georgia is a star.

I booked this hotel on the strength of its reviews and I am so pleased that I did. The Phaedra could give many 5* hotels a lesson in customer service, they really do go out of their way to deliver. We had 2 studios on the ground floor overlooking the pool. The studios and all of the communal areas were spotless, beds changed every other day, ditto towels. The accommodation was really well kept and maintained. More than 50% of the people we met there were returners, we are already talking about which week we will be back next year. The pool is glorious, no chlorine and never busy. There is a box of inflatables for the kids to use which is a great idea. From the pool you walk directly onto a sandy, clean beach with free sunbeds and shades and there are beds and shades round the pool if you don't want to sit on the beach. Georgiana who runs the pool cafe/bar looked after us well, you can have breakfast/lunch and snacks, any drinks and lovely iced coffee here at a reasonable price. There are supermarkets and tavernas nearby so you really don't have to venture far if you don't want to. A special mention to Nikos. All of the restaurant recommendations were spot on, our favorite was Kosmas. Thank you Nikos and Georgiana for a fabulous holiday, we will see you next year.

We stayed at Phaedra for one week towards the end of Summer 2023, taking three generations (Grandma, ourselves and young daughter.) Nikos the owner was incredibly helpful finding us suitable rooms, even though we booked late. We booked on the basis of the amazing reviews, and we weren't disappointed! Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the hotel feels like a peaceful oasis, even when it's full. The Phaedra is located right on the beach, so perfect for swimming in the warm sea, plus it has a lovely chemical-free pool. Special thanks to Georgia who runs the pool bar and makes you feel very welcome and at home, and of course to Nikos himself who is a fantastic host, including helping us a lot when unfortunately Grandma broke her ankle while walking in Chania town. Even with that mishap, we have hugely fond memories of our holiday and that says it all - we look forward to returning!

If you want peace and personal treatment, Hotel Phaedra is your place. We spent a week here and it was great - the rooms are functionally furnished, the view of the pool and the sea is perfect. The service and the cleanliness are at a high level. Free sunbeds for hotel guests, beach towels, and for the children there is a whole chest of beach toys for free use. The pool bar offers refreshing drinks, cocktails and delicious food at good prices. Georgia who serves the bar is a great lady! Mr. Nikos is always available and he and the whole team do a perfect job. We will be back for sure!
