Kydon The Heart City Hotel

I recently stayed at Kydon Hotel, and while the accommodations and amenities were excellent, what truly set this hotel apart was the extraordinary service provided by Rena, the bartender.

Rena is not just a bartender; she is the heart of Kydon. From the moment I walked into the bar, she greeted me with warmth and made me feel like I was among friends, even though I was far from home. Her genuine interest in my well-being and family added a personal touch that is rare to find. She remembered little details from our conversations, which made each interaction feel meaningful and not just part of a job.

Her mixology skills are top-notch, crafting delicious cocktails with precision and flair. But beyond the drinks, it's her charisma, sense of humor, and kindness that make the bar at Kydon feel like a sanctuary after a long day. She effortlessly creates a welcoming atmosphere for every guest, ensuring everyone feels included and appreciated.

The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, with comfortable rooms and excellent facilities. The location is convenient, and the staff are attentive and professional. However, if I had to pick one reason to return, it would undoubtedly be Rena. She exemplifies hospitality at its finest, and her presence elevates Kydon Hotel to a whole new level.

The food and service are the best! Especially Rena, who works the bar. She makes the best drinks, always has a beautiful smile to greet everyone with, and willing to be helpful to those of us not from Crete.

This hotel deserves a 5* rating. From the friendly service, welcoming staff, room cleanliness and amenities. Located only 5 minutes away from where the crowd is at night, next to the port. Breakfast was great and the rooms are so comfortable.
Definitely recommended and will definitely book again for my next stay in crete!!

Great location - 4min walk from Old Port Chania and 2min from main shopping street. Away from the buzz of the Port but still close enough!

Great hotel, very, very clean, very polite people in the reception, in the parking and in the Cafe and restaurant. It is the only hotel that had a baby Kitt, like a toothbrush and organic shampoos for our 18 months old daughter! We highly recommend it. The location and view it is also great. Thank you people of Kydon Hotel. Ah! And great welcome 🍸 🍹 drinks!

Clean and very functional rooms. AC was absolutely great to have. Each day they had a complimentary bottle of water in the fridge and a chocolate on the bed. Staff was very warm and helpful. The bartenders on the first floor are the best is Chania. Incredibly personable and they make sure you get your "vegetables". The street noise can get quite loud, regardless of where you are staying. I had the great fortune to listen to Post-Game celebrations for both a basketball and football victory during the week. The cacophony of celebration was typically between 12-4 am and lasted for roughly 2 hours. Maybe bring earplugs just in case there happens to be more winning nights for the local sports teams during your stay.

The staff is very great! Friendly and helpful. The location is right there next to everything. The parking is a little odd and small, but they do move the Cars around to accommodate. The beds are not the best. Maybe I'm to picky or to heavy. That's my only real complaint. The daily water they give you is larger than the standard.

The overall experience was fantastic. The only problem was that we found a cockroach one night and the guy on the reception told us he doesn't do well with cockroaches and just gave us a tezza (bug repellent/spray). Other than that, it was a most wonderful experience.

The hotel is in a great location, the staff were amazing, and the breakfast was great. They also had parking which was a huge plus. We encountered an issue with the AC leaking in the middle of the night in our first room. The person on duty gave us a bunch of towels, told us not to use the AC (in Crete) and that they would deal with it in the morning. In all fairness, they gave us a new room first thing that morning, but it would have been nice to not spend the night without AC. This was after spending nearly 30 hours traveling mind you. We also had to deal with some fellow Americans who lacked volume control and self awareness on how to act in a hotel hallway, but that's a cultural problem that I should be used to by now. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay.
