Rex Hotel

What a joke. Booked what we thought was a 3 star hotel but ended up in a hostel. Huge school groups engulfed the 'hotel', badly behaved teenagers (13-15 yr olds) running about in corridors for hours, unsupervised, yelling at each other, banging on doors and slamming them shut. First night this occured until 3.30am, it's nearly midnight on night two and there's no sign of the noise letting up anytime soon. Aircon is stuck on hot, need balcoby door open to make temps bearable but kids are also on balconies making noise. Shame really, the rooms themselves are OK, decor is tired but bed comfy and hotel clean. Their decision to accept these groups alongside paying guests is appalling though. If you're after a good night sleep, I'd recommend heading to a private Airbnb or pay extra to stay in a better star hotel that doesn't accept school groups.

No reviews on Google and I found out why. Pictures do not reflect reality. Literally needed to squeeze sideways between the bathroom and shower doors to get to the toilet, then had to close the bathroom door before i could sit on it. (And I’m not a big person.). Hotel is on busy street and was not very soundproof. We had to wait to check-in after a long day of travel while the Concierge chatted with a non-patron. Shower nearly scalded my wife. I chose to wait until checking into our next hotel to use the shower for fear of the same. If I’d known any of this prior to booking the room, an alternate choice would have been made. We felt very duped. Potential patrons beware!
