Le Palace Hotel

Booked this hotel via Hotels. Com six months ago. I booked the executive room as it was offering two double beds. I even emailed the hotel beforehand requesting two separate beds. On check in I ended up with a room that was not fit to call executive. It was one double bed that my sister slept in and I was forced to use a very uncomfortable couch, that gave me back ache. I did not sleep a wink owing to the noise of the fridge in the room and road traffic, so much so I had headache. The hotel refused to deal with it stating it was a fault by Hotels. Com as they had not passed on my request, even though it is clear on my booking that I booked an executive room that said min two beds. It is clear to me that as I was late checking in because of flight from UK they gave my room to another earlier check in and couldn't change it because they had sold out. Hotels.com did little to resolve the issue either allowing the hotel to take your money for which I paid at full price with no discount and once booked no refund policy either. The worst start to my holiday having waited all year for, and now spoilt for the sake of someone's lack of time in reading my request.

The room we stayed in was upgraded, but some of it didn't make sense. Our shower had 0 curtain or door so when you showered the entire bathroom got standing water. My room, and 3 other rooms in our groups had ants all over. The AC randomly turns off, and the beds are realistically a mattress pad. Breakfast and service was good. Location is great as it is next to many of the monuments in Thessaloniki.

My room had the fire alarm defective and making noise in the middle of the the night. The hotel did nothing to compensate for the poor service. Also, the reception staff at night had no idea on guiding my travel partner route an e-hailiing ride service to get to the local bus terminal. I would not recommend it unless absolutely necessary.
