Best Western City Hotel

The rooms felt dirty. The vents were covered in dust so I put in an air purifier and after only 3 nights, the filter needed to be cleaned. The sheets are heavily scented from the detergent they use.
Breakfast was fine.
Beds were not the most comfortable.
The neighborhood was sketchy.

We booked a six-day, five-night stay at this hotel during a business trip while attending a fair in Bologna. Although the location isn't central, it wasn't our primary concern.

Let's delve into the room and service aspects. The room was tidy and clean, but the absence of an option for room service was notable. While housekeeping cleaned the room daily, the consistency of their service varied. The air conditioner didn't function optimally, and the room lacked adequate soundproofing. Additionally, the bathroom door couldn't be securely closed. Bottles of water were not replenished unless requested, which was inconvenient.

Moving on to the staff, those at the reception were satisfactory. However, at the breakfast room, there was this tall girl with beautiful fuzzy dark hair who appeared to be the only English-speaking staff member. Despite my friendly demeanor each morning when interacting with her to provide my room number, I consistently received a cold response, contrary to the treatment most other guests received. Regarding the coffee service, apart from the machine, real coffee from the kitchen was available upon request or by proposal, which unfortunately was not offered to me unless specifically asked. On the last day, I confronted her about this issue, initially met with feigned misunderstanding until I repeated myself, at which point she complied. This experience left me feeling uncomfortable, as it was the first time I've encountered such treatment.

Despite this, the other hotel staff were pleasant and welcoming, embodying the warmth I associate with Italian hospitality.

Free parking it was the only plus in here. Room was ok size. The “full size” bed was two twins mattress together!! Super noise outside!!! And the worse part, NO AIR CONDITIONER!!!! And NO EAR PLUGS!!! Breakfast was OK. Would be better if the staff would smile and don’t give us dirty look because we show up at @ 10:30am when they stop serving at 11am. For the price..... we were staying here for 3 nights but decided to check out one night sooner and find some better place to stay. I would not recommend this place. Unless you don’t mind the buses noise and people walking and talking loud bellow your window at 2:30am.
