Hotel David

I almost don't want to leave a review because I want to keep this gem in the middle of Florence a secret! From check-in to check-out, we received nothing but excellent service and care. The staff at the reception were super friendly. Our room, number 32, had a balcony and a large, perfect bathroom. There were even two bowls waiting for Kiko, and we were allowed to bring him to the breakfast area.

The ladies operating the breakfast were courteous, very polite, and helpful. The breakfast was very tasty, featuring the most delicious pistachio croissants, delightful cappuccinos, and a selection of ham and cheeses. Overall, I would rate this place a 10/5 and will definitely be back!

We had a great couple of days here. We happened to get a large room with a balcony. The hotel is quiet, the free breakfast was great and happy hour was a nice way to wind down before dinner. The staff were always attentive and even made reservations at a local restaurant for us. The bus stops right out front and will take you to the city center or about 15-20 min walk. I will definitely stay here again if visiting Florence.

Wow! What an amazing hotel! I feel so lucky that I stumbled across this hotel from recommendations from some other people. They say that they are more than just a hotel, but a way of life, and that’s so true. The staff were excellent and so friendly and helpful. The facilities at the hotel are great and the details we were told when we arrived were so helpful and useful. The restaurants we were recommended were EXCEPTIONAL! I didn’t know about their “Happy Hour” in advance of going and this one s such a cool thing! An hour and a half each evening of complimentary food and wine where you can chill and chat with the other guests. On top of this you have a daily allowance of other complimentary food and drink. It’s such an innovative concept and helps make your stay there superb. We felt like we were in our own little world, as there is a big fence around the place which helps you feel detached from the noise and busyness of Florence. It is only a short distance from the centre of Florence. We caught the bus from the bus stop just outside the hotel and bought our tickets from the hotel reception. It would take around 15-20 minutes of you walked but when you are in Florence you walk around d so much we thought it better to get there quicker and easier. Honestly, this really is such a good hotel, I can’t recommend it highly enough!

We loved our stay at The Hotel David! It was more like staying at a villa than a hotel. We had a delicious breakfast on the beautiful terrace filled with lemon trees every morning (including eggs and bacon). They have “happy hour” every afternoon in the lush patio garden. One night, we were so tired from our day that “happy hour” was our dinner! They served antipasto & everything was perfect. The staff was lovely and accommodating! It is not a super fancy hotel, but it was well-appointed! The location was ideal for us- it was close to everything but in a much quieter area than the city center.

Hotel David is amazing!!! The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The room and balcony were beautiful and so clean. They provided free breakfast, free drinks and snacks, free happy hour and then gave us a gift when we left. The hotel is so nice and felt very late in the location. Hotel is about a 20 minute walk to Florence city center but walk is along the river and then across the bridge- scenic the whole way. Favorite hotel during my trip. Photos are accurate and even better in person.

Without a doubt our favorite hotel from our time in Italy here. It has a welcoming and eclectic vibe, friendly staff, and a great location. Everything in the main area of Florence is walkable, or easily reached by bus if you want a faster trip. Being on the other side of the river from central Florence makes it feel just far enough away that it’s restful to relax here. Happy Hour and Breakfasts were both perfect as well, so wonderful those are included. They even left some champagne and a congratulations note for my wife and I since we were on our honeymoon!

Hop on/Hop off bus stop right across the street. Can buy tickets on the bus. Easy 25 minute walk to downtown. Several local restaurants within 2-3 min walk.
Hotel provided breakfast and happy hour. Both were delightful. Coffee and soft drinks always available for no cost. We had a balcony off our room and brought food back to eat in private. But no need to do this as there is a lovely garden area.
We used their parking lot. Easy access.

Firm beds- not our preference. If you have a lot of luggage there is little space in room #10 to unpack. Small bathroom. But sufficient.

This hotel is a treasure! It's so hard to find a good one in Italy, I'm sorry to say. Hotel David has it all: great staff, it's super clean, tasteful interior with Italian history instead of soulless boutique hotel furniture, a nice breakfast, and important for some people: an elevator. Buses to all parts of Florence are right outside the front door. I can recommend it to anyone.

The best hotel we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. So many hotels should come to Hotel David to understand true hospitality, cleanliness and authenticity. The rooms are beautiful, tall ceilings, traditional decor and an excellent shower! The breakfast is a wonderful selection and the pastries arrive fresh every day from a local bakery. We left early one morning as we had to drive to Chianti for a race, the staff were wonderful in preparing a breakfast for us the night before.

Each day you can take up to 3 soda cans per person complimentary and there’s both fizzy and still water in the machine to refill your bottles. From 6:30pm until 8pm there is free wine and nibbles which is a fabulous end to a long day on your feet. Parking is secure and was also wonderful, the staff are very well prepared in helping you park and will move the cars around as necessary.

The location is perfect - you are just a short walk across the bridge to head towards the main attractions. There are also plenty of restaurants close by, we did take out one evening and brought pasta back to eat outside.

If I could transport this hotel to every place I needed to stay I honestly would. Phenomenal

We had an outstanding stay at this wonderful boutique hotel in Florence. Personal service, great location in a beautifully maintained property with all the charm and character of an older Italian building.

The room was beautiful and very comfortable, including the beds and linens. The main floor lounge was a lovely option to hang out in. The self-serve coffee and complimentary refreshment area was a welcome delight, including the ability to fill your water bottle with either still or sparkling water. Enjoyed the evening happy hour with the other guests. Nice opportunity to meet others. Lovely breakfast room with a wonderful included breakfast.

Highly recommend. This exceeded all of our expectations.
