Very nice hotel a stone's throw from the city center, on a quiet street (if you can consider the streets of Palermo quiet!) The room is spacious and well-equipped, furnished in the style of the period, but with all modern comforts. The staff is very attentive, special mention to the gentleman at the reception who helped us solve a small problem with a thing left in the car, as well as to the young lady who welcomed us - a sunny and very professional person. Good breakfast, varied and good choice. In short, we had an excellent stay and will not hesitate to come back if we are ever in Palermo again. Thank you all!!

Very close to the main attractions, good breakfast, valet parking (charges apply), the old building is quite distinctive.

Old money style, convenient location, very close to the main shopping street, many restaurants around, you can walk to the main attractions, there are also grocery stores around, it is also convenient to buy small items. The room is not small, the extra bed is also quite comfortable, larger than the average European hotel room. The European breakfast is so-so, there is nothing wrong with it, the breakfast room on the top floor is not small, the service is friendly.

The next day, my flight was at dawn, so I had a lot of requests, such as asking for a taxi, preparing a lunch box, and calling at dawn, but they handled everything kindly, so I was satisfied.

We truly enjoyed Palermo and I can say the hotel and its location was part of the reason. The hotel is perfectly located to so many sites and restaurants. The hotel valet parked our car. Breakfast was good. Beds were comfy. ALL of the staff were very helpful and personable!! All good representatives for the hotel and the city. A special thank you to Nico who was the first person on staff the greet us and the last and take care of our luggage. And also a special thanks the gentleman who was working the reception desk Friday evening 10/18/24. He worked some magic and secured us some restaurant reservations for the weekend. So appreciate the effort.

First I would like to do a special mention for Davide, a gentleman who we encountered each morning of our stay in the breakfast area. He made an excellent cappuccino, dispensed and delivered with a genuine smile and greeting to start our day on a positive note. After the first day, he even remembered what kind of coffee we liked! He’s a genuine asset to the hotel staff, and I hope he is officially recognized as such!

Breakfast, which was included in our stay was a nice assortment of fresh fruits, vegetables, breads pastries, scrambled eggs, and cheeses, plus much more. It was very satisfying visually and to the palate.

We also had nightcaps a couple nights at the bar hotel. They make a great Manhattan and serve you either sweets or savory items as a tid bit to go with. It’s an intimate, quiet atmosphere.

Beyond that, most staff is friendly and helpful. I’m sure it is a very trying job to deal with stressed out travelers, but as a team, these lovely people do all they can to work out issues and calm frazzled nerves, much of the time working behind the scenes.

Our room, common rooms and hallways were spotless and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was bigger than many we’ve encountered in Italy, and the shower pressure was the best we’ve had in any hotel EVER!
Although our window faced a wall within feet of the building, we kept the drapes closed so it didn’t matter. You will see plenty of the beautiful town during the day, and you certainly won’t need the view while you are sleeping. It was very quiet and conducive to rest at night. If view is really important to you, make sure that is known when you book.

The location was handy for us, but you must plan on walking quite a bit to some attractions. There are shops and restaurants nearby, but to get to the street markets, it’s a bit further. Take a map of the area or be proficient using Google maps.

All in all, I’d highly recommend this hotel!

In August, I stayed at the Grand Hotel Wagner in Palermo, booking it last minute, and I’m so pleased with my choice. From the moment I arrived, the service was outstanding. The front desk staff were welcoming and efficient, and the gentleman who helped with my bags was both courteous and professional.

One thing that truly impressed me was how the hotel treated my friend, who was staying nearby with her son. While she was waiting outside the hotel, the staff kindly invited her inside to wait in the reception area. When I came downstairs, the same gentleman who had helped me earlier assisted her with her bags and even escorted her to the car to ensure everything was taken care of, despite the fact that she wasn’t a guest at the hotel. She was genuinely impressed by this level of service.

My room was also well-appointed and had all the necessities to make my stay comfortable. It included amenities like bathrobes, beauty products, and all the small touches that made it feel like a luxurious experience. The attention to detail in the room ensured I had everything I needed to relax and enjoy my stay.

As for the breakfast experience, the service was, as expected, impeccable. The staff were attentive and made sure everything was well-organized. However, the selection of food, while decent, could use a few tweaks. The waffles weren’t as great as I had hoped, so I ended up sticking to fresh fruits and a croissant, which were perfectly fine. Additionally, the breakfast room could benefit from a bit more air conditioning to enhance the comfort.

The hotel itself has a classic, slightly dated feel, but for those who appreciate historical interiors, it offers a charming, castle-like ambiance. My room was comfortable and had everything I needed for a pleasant stay.

Overall, the Grand Hotel Wagner excels in customer service and offers a unique and elegant experience in Palermo. I would definitely consider staying here again and highly recommend it to others. Thank you once again for outstanding customer service :)

Multigeneration family vacation, the hotel was wonderful from booking of 8 rooms to check out the staff were outstanding. NICOLA welcomed us warmly and expedited our baggage and took a personal interest in everyone, the front desk personnel were accommodating, warm and helpful through all of our planning and time, David, Giovanna, and Claudio took excellent care of all our varied dietary needs and beverages in both the bar and the restaurant. The rooms are spacious, clean and well kept with ample amenities, turn down service and chocolates! The entire staff from management on down went above and beyond not just for our party but for all! The only place to stay in Palermo!

Our family enjoyed 3 nights at this fabulous hotel. Love the location, as it was within walking distance to many of the areas we visited. The breakfast was outstanding and the rooms were spacious. A special shout out to Davide who provided exceptional service at the bar and in the breakfast area. He made us feel extra special and we really appreciate the attention he provided.
