Generally speaking the experience was positive but there was something off about the attitude of the staff. After having stayed at multiple 5 star locations in Italy prior to reaching this hotel, it's clear someone at the top was instilling an off service attitude that did not come off at genuine or hospitable for an establishment at this level.
The outdoor balcony music is too loud.
Housekeeping is excellent.
The grounds are beautiful and the location cannot be better.
The pool restaurant is very good despite the low budget Bahamas look to it.

This hotel was easily the best hotel out of our entire Italy trip. Camilla went above and beyond. We got to stay in the Royal Suite and it did not disappoint - the balcony is HUGE. We had breakfast on the balcony every morning and a few dinners overlooking the bay. Everything about the hotel felt royal. We also ended up meeting one of the owners, Alessandro, on the last night.
He was incredibly gracious and even offered suggestions for the final leg of our trip. 10/10 experience.

My time at Hotel Excelsior Vittoria was a fantastic experience. Beautiful grounds, amazing location and a relaxing environment round the pool area. The service was beyond excellent and we would like to say a special thank you to Giuseppe who made our stay! Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Sorrento.

We came here for a cocktail before dinner and it did not disappoint. The hotel commands a premium position over the bay with the cocktail area providing outstanding views. The quality of the cocktails is equal to the calibre of the view and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Even though the hotel is accessible from the hustle and bustle of the main Piazza, the bar area is quite a distance from the entrance long so all you hear is the sounds of the piano.... Which I might add really needs to be tuned. Cocktails are a flat price of 25EUR each but it is totally worth it for the location. Outstanding.

The Grand Excelsior Vittoria is unlike any other property I've stayed at, include other international 5-star resorts. We spent 10 nights in the Pavarotti Suite and extended our stay the moment we arrived. Every single staff member truly cares about your experience and will go to incredible lengths to ensure your every need is catered to. I will specifically call out our concierge Corrado for his monumental efforts and exceptional recommendations throughout Sorrento and the surrounding areas, as well as Francesco who catered to our every need while dining.. typically in the mornings. If you are considering visiting Sorrento or anywhere in the vicinity, the Grand Excelsior Vittoria will exceed all expectations.

Exquisite grand Hotel, situated in the absolute heart of Sorrento in probably one of the best locations the town offers. It boasts incredible views and is immaculately styled in grand hotel luxury style.

Wow just wow, the service was amazing and so was the room.
Beds were comfortable and the view is sensational.
Food and drinks were great, the whole setting is amazing and the staff are so friendly. Rooms were serviced very well each day, there was nothing else we could ask for.

Having read that the hotel welcomes non-hotel guests and that you can enjoy a coffee with a beautiful view, we stopped by to do just that. And what can I say, it was a complete disappointment. The service was absolutely terrible, no mention of friendliness at all. We were ignored for a long time, no water was served with our coffee compared to other guests. The only nice thing was the view, which we told the waiter when he asked us how we liked it. I would rather spend my money somewhere else than here for such poor service, in a 5 star hotel.
