Reviews
1. First, I arrived at the check-in time in the afternoon. I didn’t see any service staff in the lobby. The guy at the front desk was on the phone for 10 minutes and saw me. He didn’t pay any attention or express anything. Finally, I found out that he was the front desk.
2. After waiting for 10 minutes, he finished the call. Everyone was waiting for him. He came over without any apology. I asked why there was no receptionist here. I had been waiting for 10 minutes. And you saw me and knew I was looking for the front desk to check in. Even if you call, tell the guests where the front desk is. He immediately looked angry and said, "Didn’t you see I was on the phone? This is my job, so it’s not your job to check in guests?"
3. He threw the key to me angrily and told me that I was the only one here. If you think there is no one, go find the supervisor. He was furious the whole time and told me that I don’t like guests like you either. This is the most rude and ill-mannered hotel staff I have ever seen. You are self-righteous. I don’t know if you have graduated from elementary school or what your parents taught you. Your existence is a disgrace to Italians. If you don’t like this job, I hope you can quit early and go back to your hometown to sell vegetables. As a hotel guest, I don’t like to see guys like you when I pay. You need to grow new hair. The hotel is not your home. As a front desk, do you think you are the boss? Because of your service attitude, it means that you can only be a service staff in your life. You have no chance to become richer and more talented. You are not suitable to apply for a better position and you will not get it.
Finally, some advice to the hotel managers. First, I did not see anyone in the lobby during the check-in time. This is not in line with a four-star hotel. Second, is it because the front desk and service staff are old that you condone their service attitude? Please change to a polite and young front desk. An old person will only get angry. He is not suitable for this job. I spent money, not to go to the elderly service center to see such an old person get angry at me.
He is also a liar. He kept saying that I didn’t give him my passport, so he couldn’t check me in.
I was travelling to Turin for a work-related conference and the conference organisers suggested to book this hotel. While the organisers proceeded to make a booking, I received an elaborately crafted email (from an address which looked legitimate) asking me to fill in my contact details for my stay at Hotel Lancaster - and later a second email prompting me to pay with my credit card for the scam booking. This turned out to be a scam and two bookings were made under my name.
Upon contacting the hotel the receptionist explained that a second booking has been made through expedia (!) and that he could not cancel it and he said that if I would show up at the hotel I would be obliged to pay for both bookings. Of course the scammers had not sent any booking number or anything that could be used with expedia to cancel the scam booking and in the end I had to spend several hours trying to find a solution to something that the hotel staff should be able to do upon a simple request.
I have never stayed in another hotel that refuses to cancel bookings a month in advance and treats customers this way. The receptionist was quite rude and unhelpful and I had to cancel my stay there. Since nobody except the organisers knew that I would stay in that hotel, my suspicion is that the hotel staff is part of a scam circuit.
