I stayed at the Shakespeare Boutique Hotel for 2 nights recently whilst on a solo trip in Vilnius. I chose this hotel as it was well situated right in the Old Town which made everything I wanted to see and do a short walking distance away and had breakfast included which made the stay cheaper and more convenient for me. I felt very safe at the hotel and it was located in quiet surroundings. The staff were very kind and friendly. I would recommend to others booking a city break in Vilnius.

This is a theme hotel and the theme is poets and authors, so each room is named after a different author and inside the rooms there are paintings and photos and books of the author and other authors. But one goes to a hotel to find a comfortable stay and leave the authors for the museums. Why does the theme interfere with having a shower curtain and not have the water spill all over the floor or have the bath on legs so tall that I almost lost my balance twice and then almost slipped on the wet floor????? And only one toilet paper roll? And no phone connecting to the front desk which is really far away from the room. So each time to walk back and forth. And when you get there it is unmanned so go ahead and wait some 10-15 minutes until someone will come.
The location is really great.

We enjoyed our 3 day stay at the Shakespeare. It was aided by the way we were treated especially by Martynas who sorted out a bad experience we had with an on line travel agent. The key message to all who read this is BOOK DIRECT. You will be rewarded.

The hotel is in a really nice area. The hotel style is exactly what you see in the pictures. We stayed at the ground flor, but it was quiet and we have no complain about noises. Our room was a little cold though. The breakfast was really good.

Ideal location in the very center of the old town - all the sights are 3-5 minutes away
The hotel itself is old (but in the Old Town), we had a room on the 1st floor, it smelled strongly of sewage. The water pressure and temperature are ideal.
The bed is huge. I wouldn't say it's comfortable, but you can sleep.
But the coolest thing is with the lighting. There are two bedside lamps. And there is a main light, but they are interconnected. That is, you can't just turn on the bedside light. Everything turns on at the same time. You can't read at night. It's unclear why you should do this.
The room itself is small, but the bathroom is excellent. With good cosmetics. The breakfast is good. Pancakes, casserole, and the rest, standard. And what's surprising is that it is included in the price, which for me personally was a decisive factor when choosing a hotel, because there are many good hotels in Vilnius at an affordable price.

We arrived late in the evening, and we were immediately greeted by a kind staff person at the reception. We quickly filled out the guest form and headed to our room. The room was nice and cozy, with a great view of the city, specifically the hill of the Three Crosses. We were expecting to find a bath in our room, as seen in the pictures on the hotel website, but we only found a shower. Perhaps the website is a little confusing and not completely transparent. Either way, the bathroom was very nice.
After about half an hour of being in the room, the room next door started to fill up with people, champagne bottles were opened and it
became unbearable to be there and relax. It was a Saturday night, so their activity is understandable, however, from a 4 star hotel, I would expect more sound proof walls, and not ones where you can hear your neighbour speak or take a step on the floor. This probably happens due to the building's old age.
Immediately, we went to the reception to ask for a different room. Without any convincing or resistance, we were given a new room to stay in for the night. Even though this room was a single instead of the double we originally booked, it was a great alternative, as long as we didnt have to suffer from any noise.
The second room also had a great view of the city, specifically the Church of Saint Ona. We were able to enjoy our night fully.
Next morning, a nice, english inspired breakfast.
I would reccomend this hotel, for its great location, staff and atmosphere. But from our experience, do not come here if you are sensible to noise.

Perfect location within the old town Vilnius. Very near the important landmarks of the city, and more importantly, the good restaurants. The rooms are clean and well maintained. There is no restaurant in house. The breakfast served is good.

Very sophisticated interior design, nice atmosphere. The Royal castle is a few minutes walk away. Breakfast is very good.
