Amata Lanna Chiang Mai, One Member of the Secret Retreats

If you're looking for a small hotel with a personal touch and great hospitality, and you want to experience the kindness of Thai people, this is the place for you.

The location is perfect, just a short walk from the night market.

Just a heads-up, it can get a bit noisy because it's right by the main road.

The hotel offers free drinks 24/7, but since it's on a small site, there isn't a great space for guests to relax and enjoy the day.

The swimming pool is also on the small side. It seems like it's there more for decoration than anything else.

Just a heads-up: The air conditioning system in the room is pretty old and makes a loud buzzing noise when it's on. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do about it, other than use earplugs to sleep.

On the bright side, I'd like to give a big shout-out to the staff for doing an amazing job.

We stayed for 4 days in this adorable hotel.
You can find everywhere some cute little details and it looks like it is from an ancient time. Even though you're in the middle of the city, you have the feeling to be in a complete different relaxing and calm place while sitting at the pool. Also the area around is quite calm and there is a nice temple 250m away.
Some Reviews said, that the pool area has not enough sun. We do not agree with that, since during the day we had a lot of sun while relaxing at the pool. (12am until 4 pm)
The Service is also excellent, very attentional, friendly and explains you a little about the Lanna history.
So far the best hotel we stayed at in Thailand. We can highly recommend this hotel.

This is an absolute gem of a hotel. The staff is so kind and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, clean and huge with a traditional decoration. The outdoors and pool areas are lovely, calm and peaceful. Breakfast is good, with freshly cooked eggs and sticky mango rice (could have more western options). It's definitely worth staying here, would come back, no doubt.

Nice place, nice staff and nice vibe.
Rooms are tidy and comfortable. All towels and beds are clean and smell good. There are 5 different types of breakfast for guests to choose. They also offer mango sticky rice for guests too. Everything is good. But as the hotel is next to a road and it is a bit noisy in the busy morning. Highly recommended with reasonable price and excellent service!

I had an incredible stay at this hotel! The rooms were comfortable, the staff was exceptional, and the breakfast was delightful. Additionally, the location added a perfect touch to my overall experience. Highly recommend!

I just want to say that our stay at this hotel was amazing and beyond. People working there are so kind and so cheerful and full of commitment. In my opinion they work very hard to make your stay as best as possible. One thing that could be improved is mattress, it is too bit hard.

A hidden gem in the middle of the city with a very stunning traditional structure, Amata Lanna Chiang Mai is a very nice stay if you want to stay in the city centre.

The architecture is a stunner in itself, with a little over a dozen rooms spanning two floors surrounding a small swimming pool. You will find yourself surrounded by old teak furnishing, traditional wood carvings.

We stayed a couple of days in a Deluxe Double room on the ground floor. You cannot call it spacious compared to the room sizes other emerging hotels in CNX have to offer. But the size is adequate, and a generous proportion is spared for a lavish bathroom.

This little haven isn't without shortcomings though (more below). But in general, we did enjoy our stay and you just cannot help feel pampered by the superb hospitality from the warm, friendly and exceptionally helpful staff.

Small boutique hotel with superb spacious rooms and bathrooms. The staff always had a smile on their face and were willing to help. Breakfast was excellent- a range of western and Asian options freshly cooked. With espresso coffee, salad and bread. The staff spoke great English :) The location is a bit outside of the Old City close to the riverside and just a few mins walk to a beautiful temple (Wat Chai Mongkol). The Chiang night bazaar is on every evening and is walking distance to the hotel. Highly recommended to go the International Food court Ploen Ruedee (google it) for evening eats, beers and music. The food court is 15 mins walk away from the hotel. Personally I wanted to be in among the energy and density of the Old City - that was my vibe. However, a short Grab taxi was all that was needed to get anywhere. The road next to the hotel does get quite busy and noisy in late arvo. So bring some earplugs for your afternoon siesta. In the evening it does become more quiet.
